Thanks for the valuable info. can you send me a link of that ebay auction.

They even came on the 6-cylinder cars of that era so they are pretty easy to find. I got a complete set with e-brake cables and the brake hard lines for under $100 on ebay. Since you are having the housing narrowed you can just have them put on the Strange small GM housing ends while they are at it so stock Chevy car brakes will bolt right on and you still get the press-on bearings & retainer plates.

You could turn a stock rotor into a bearing hub, drill it for 5 on 4-3/4 and use Vette or Camaro slip on rotors up front. Many size options from 12x1.25" on up. You could fab up a caliper mount bracket to use the matching PBR calipers up front or run the Wilwood D52 calipers at all four corners.

I got mine a while ago but here is another one as an example.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1998-...item3cb070e88b

His ad is wrong. They are 12" diameter x 1" thick rear rotors not 11".

You could always get this instead

Here is another one for only $125

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1998-...item1e5e112f79

He will even knock $20 off if you don't want the old rotors. Pick up some nice cross drilled ones to use instead.

Re: LS1 into a 73 cheyenne

I was thinking about maybe upgrading my McGaughy F & R kits by using the 2010 SS Camaro/Brembo calipers. There 4 piston and I think I could build a bracket to work properly.

The fixed mount calipers should be easier to fab up brackets than the floating mount D52 style calipers would be.

A little quality time with a spare spindle & rotor and a mill / lathe is all you need.

The third gen F-body guys cut off the stock caliper brackets and use the dust shield mounting bolt points as caliper mount points. You may be able to do the same or even use the old caliper mount bolt holes to hold the caliper bracket for the 09 Vette parts.

The difference being is those kits us stock rotors. The McGaughy kit is the only "reasonable" priced kit on the market that runs 13" rotors F&R.

Niped- Have you read this post? "Just bought some calipers, any ideas if I can make them fit?"

Have you been able to determine what the OEM application is for the front caliper? I know it's late model GM, just don't know what. If you can find the intended application, it's possible that one of the aftermarket suppliers offers a larger caliper as a direct replacement.

Ken, I hadn't read that one. I have plenty of room to clear the caliper, just would have to fab the caliper mount, which wouldn't be to tough to do since the McGaughy spindle is already machined to accept a fabbed bracket. I just need to find out how large the diameter of the SS rotor is, and decide if it's something I want to pursue.

Re: LS1 into a 73 cheyenne

To shave the cab seam i used sum 3M 3M 8115 PANEL BONDING ADHESIVE then i used a die grinder to sand it flat, this method is by far the fastest and its just as strong as a weld. The only problem is that this panel glue absorbs paint to prevent this i over sanded then i will apply a thin layer of either body filler or glaze.

as far as mudding goes the roof is the last of it. First layer shown here, still needs more work
