Played a little today and turned the bumper around.
I removed the Driveshaft to swap the new center bearing for another one. I have a humming noise up to 70/80 km/h, approx. 43-50mph, above that it's quiet. I hung the middle bearing lower with washers to test it and it got better. Now one from Iveco (This is from a light Italian panel van) is installed, which is much firmer in the rubber suspension. I already have a spacer there to test the position of the Driveshaft.

The currently installed bearing was new, but the driveshaft was hanging down in the rubber, everything was totally soft.
The other new bearing I got is much stronger and will guide the driveshaft better, I hope. The quality of today's rubber products does not come close to the original parts

I agree with you about the camper top, but it can be set up for weekend vacations or meetings within an hour, which I think is nice.

Today we got a small motorcycle from 1961 for a friend, 50cc and 5.4 HP,
his dad rode it in the 60s, He was already a cool kid back then, great memories. The Driveshaft goes to the Driveshaft Shop this week and is overhauled. Let it run jacked up and I could see the second part of the wave going back and forth. Bumper is upside down.

I also bought a 67 onward bumper for my truck, years ago.
I much preferred the look. Cool bike, but 50cc is not enough for me.

We are now a group who have a lot of fun with the little things.
When I was 16 years old, my buddy and I rode bikes like this via Marseille, the whole Cote Azur to Monte Carlo and over the Maritime Alps and Switzerland and back again, when you're young you do things that others say you can't do.

Yes, the “H” at the end of the license plate stands for historic vehicle, even for trucks. Many people drive the old pickups with truck registration without an "H", so the tax is based on weight and the tax is around €165 per year and you have a little more freedom in terms of construction. Since everything was approved for me, I also received the "H" and could also use it to drive into the environmental zones of the cities. The “H” then costs €192 per year.

Actually I just wanted to replace my broken Pinion yoke, the join was running to the sides and wasn't guided cleanly and because I also have humming noises, I immediately got an overtaking kit for the differential.
The differential has been overhauled before. The differential also came out of the case very easily, which surprised me. On the Pinion the bearing behind the yoke was broken, all other bearings were undamaged and running cleanly. Pinion was assembled with a new crush sleeve and new yoke, the crush sleeve was broken and the preload was set to 19 inch pounds, a stupid job under the truck. But the carrier has 0.20mm(0.00787inches) axial play, which is far too much, it is supposed to have 0.010 preload, backslash is also too much at 0.45 (0,0177inches). I first ordered shims for the carrier and a solid spacer for the Pinion and will probably have to readjust it.

Well, replacing the Pinion yoke just now turned into an overhaul,
a Pinion bearing was broken, the contact pattern on the differential wasn't okay and there was no preload on the carrier, so everything was new. Instead of a crush sleeve for the Pinion, I installed a solid sleeve and re-calibrated everything.

I'm not satisfied yet, I also picked up the overhauled driveshaft today and put everything together. Did a test drive and I find the differential runs rough. From 55-60mls it's quiet. I need some advice from you. What did I do: the Pinion got new bearings and was assembled with a solid spacer and achieved 19in-ibs as pre load and the carrier also got new bearings, the backlash was set to 0.009 in. I thought the bearing image was okay. It's an 8.5 10Bolt axle with 2.41:1 locking from 1978. I would be happy if you could help me with this, thanks. P. S Here are the pictures from Drive and Coast

Update on my rear axle, I looked at the bearing pattern again and came to the conclusion that the pinion is still too low,
I corrected it and am now happy. Some of the noises are gone, the other noises were still there, I jacked up the truck and ran it without wheels and brake drums, I am now going to replace the wheel bearings, why didn't I replace them at the same time? I'm an idiot. I will use the repair bearings.

This is an original GM differential from a 1978 Pontiac Firebird with a 2.41:1 with Limited Slip.
It was a little neglected, but drives well behind a TH350.

Some of you will remember the Model A that I am now building.
It has a ragtop from Legacy which I have now fitted and the 4Banger is at the engine builder. Behind it will now be a 4-speed gearbox from a Volvo. I got the gearbox at the weekend. The torque pipe will remain. A Model A from England has already been built like this, here is an example photo. And the parts for it are available here in Germany.

I have now installed new axle shafts with new bearings.
I initially wanted to use the repair bearings, but that was a bad idea. I assume that because of my limited slip differential I couldn't put the C-clips in, or only with force, but the C-clips would never have come out again. So I stopped and changed to new axle shafts. Now the C10 runs without rumbling or vibrations.
