Re: Finally my own build thread!
Well i got some more progress done. Unfortunately my table saw broke some sort of pin that allowed me to make the blade go up and down so i wasn't able to finish the wood for the bed. Its almost done or i would like to think so. It has been alot of work jointing and then plaining all the wood to the correct thickness because all my wood working tools are upstairs. Okay maybe i'm a little lazy. I also changed the front bed panel to match the sides. I think it came out great and really looking forward to seeing it on the ground with the cab on. Anyways heres some pics. The flat bars inbetween the wood are stainless and will be polished at a later date. They are not bolted down yet so that is why some look higher than others. The will be bolted down from the bottom so you don't see any bolts from the top. I just needed more time to finish plus i ran out of the stainless flat bar. Also the wood is just sitting there so that is why some are not evenly matched up. Will take some more pics when they are fully bolted down and aligned.

Re: Finally my own build thread!
josh, this thing is so SICK. Makes mine look like a joke LOL.
Where did you get those blue bushings that you used on your exhaust hangers? Also, do you know how those magnaflow mufflers sound? I like the fact that they are small. One more question, I noticed in one of your pics you have a metal plate on the cab mount rubber bushing on the forward drivers side. Are you leaving it there when you install the cab? I have taken two cabs off their frame and both had a shim on that cab mount. |

Re: Finally my own build thread!
Well i finally got enough time to get the truck outside and off the frame. It looks so different off the frame jig that i almost don't want to put it back on. I was able to snap a few pics of the frame with the motor and 1/2 of the exhaust installed before it got too dark to take some more pics. I was able to get most of the sheetmetal on tonight so tomorrow i will take some more pics of the truck with the bed on, 1 door and 1 fender. I almost forgot. The new rear end fits perfect with my wheels. I have around 3/4" per side of clearance which is exactly what i wanted. Anyways here is some pics

Re: Finally my own build thread!
Well i tried to get some decent pics of the truck with some sheetmetal but out of all the pics i only got 2 that came out. Since the sun is still rising it is reflecting off my truck. It look kind of angelic. So later today when the sun isn't as bright i will snap a few more. I can't wait to see it painted, wood in the bed and so on. Being patient sucks

Re: Finally my own build thread!
Last 2 pics. One of the pics is just showing the front bed mount i made.
Josh ps. Just for everyones knowledge. If you get a pre 69 rear end the max recommended wheel backspacing is 4.5" on a 10" wide wheel. It won't fit on a 70 and up rear end. I learned that out the hard way. It leaves you just under 3/4" per side of clearance which should be plenty. Just sharing that info

Re: Finally my own build thread!
What bedfoor!
I am going to build my own wood floor for the truck. I have a fair amount of wood working tools so i was thinking about either curley maple, maybe walnut. Either way it is going to be a high gloss finish. If we get a shop soon i was hoping to start building the wood floor cause i really want to see it installed. Josh
