Re: Project '86

The truck is looking good. Looks like the top is fitting well. I also like what you did with the fenders. I need to get the chop all finished on the 38 my buddy & I are building. EDIT: And build the bed, and build floors, and finish laying out the frame, and... I guess I just want to get some progress on the metal work. You have re lit the flame for that truck because yours looks to be coming along well. Good work.

The black paint you see there is guide coat. You got that one. It is used to show the high and low spots when you are block sanding. It will sand off a high and stay in a low if sanding properly.

Re: Project '86

A few shots with the bed set in place and the fender thrown on. I know the bed is crooked, I need to shim it.

Re: Project '86

Thanks, it does make the bed look a little longer, but I think the proportions came out great.

Re: Project '86

The side glass is still a bit costly IMO, and I am not sure it will fit with the bear claws installed and the suicide hinges.

Re: Project '86

I'm with jitterguy ...... I was not into the chop at first .... due to the botched jobs I'd seen on others ..... not metal workingwise but dimensionally & aesthetically.

Yours ....... works. I think moreso because of the full sized rear window.

As for the fender idea ....... not sure you thought of it but it too works with what you've done with the rest of the truck. I would not hesitate doing that myself.

Good job so far.

Thanks guys, I am very pleased with how the overall look came out. I got the fender idea from the Hill's Hot Rods blazer. Currently I only know of one other truck with that mod.
