Happy B-Day and congrats on finishing the truck. Where are your tail lights? I would hesitate to just run the strip.

Re: Shucks First Build

Happy belated! Hopefully the hangover today is worth it when looking at this gorgeous truck, almost makes me want to build a stepside myself

Re: Shucks First Build

Thanks for the birthday wishes! I survived my 21st, hah.

So with some birthday money I went and bought a new intake manifold to try and fix my light throttle hesitation I've gotten since forever ago. My original intake was a single plane and I went to a dual plane thinking that would help from the research I've made. Unfortunate basically nothing changed. But it looks nice none-the-less...

If anyone has any ideas of what it could be let me know! What it does is only in drive or reverse it'll stumble until I give it enough gas. Won't do it in park or neutral. When driving it'll stumble around the 1200-1600 RPM range.

Re: Shucks First Build

Was trying to research it, I had one that did that also, seems my vacuum on the distributor wasn't working, after wasting money and swapping two carbs that's what i came up with, changed out the vacuum part of the distributor and it was like night and day on the take off, not that it will fix your problem, but its worth checking a little closer, also what size carb are you running, allot of times bigger is not better,

I just did some work and re timed it and found out my vacuum line off my distributer was plugged into the wrong port so my timing was off. It runs a lot better but still have the slightest hesitation. My problem was worse before with my old distributer, I had the same issue you had. I ended up just getting a new distributer.

Missed out on the 5th, but Happy Birthday a few days late. You should be very proud of the work you have done on this C10. Now, go out and enjoy it!

Re: Shucks First Build

I have followed this since the beginning and just went back to the first post. I must say I am very impressed with the finished truck. I have been doing body work for 45 years and am very impressed with the fact that you have first of all stuck with it to the finish and then finished it with such high end results. You should be very proud of yourself. You have learned a hobby and a trade. If you need a job you have rolling proof of your talent. A rolling resume.

Now I wonder how the tailgate would look with the letters painted to match the wheels? You know they are never really finished.

Exactly my thought. Except I wondered about pin stripe around the letters that color.

It's looking great! One question though, where did you get the grill with the emblem?

Re: Shucks First Build

You did a great job on this truck. You should be proud! Those of us that followed along remember all the work you put in. But hopefully you still have access to the pictures and you can do your own "photo" album for this project.

I feel you pain on what photosuckit did, all of my builds in my signature are nearly worthless now. My "Henry" build is my first one that I am doing differently with pictures loaded directly from my PC to the thread.

Very nice work! Not enough built stepsides out there and your's looks great. I'm really liking the rim/tire combo. Did you end up with the size rims and tires you mentioned a few pages back?

The finished product looks great! I tried to go through the thread but the photos are broken thanks to Photobucket. Do you happen to have a pic of the truck when you started?

Yeah photobucket really killed me on this one. But I do have most of my photos still. Heres a rundown.
