Re: post up your camping pics
steep, narrow, lots of off camber that the camper wont like. took me almost 2 hrs to go 10 miles. i video'ed it with my dash cam, looks really cool, but it's waaaaay to long to upload. should have cut it into segments i guess....

Re: post up your camping pics
dawg cooling off, this is where we get off the powerline rd & back on a normal gravel rd. John george lake is up a 20 mile valley that climbs to 'bout 11 or 12 thou feet. there is 6 or 7 lakes all connected by Kwoiek creek that are fed by Stukolait lake near the top of the valley. it's a spectacular place in the summer

Re: post up your camping pics
i pretty much knew that at that elevation, there was going to be snow. looking at the mountains & how mild this winter has been, i was hoping to get up to a mile or so from John George & hike the rest. was not happening, hit snow at the 8 mile mark little too far to be hoofing out in snow....notice how there is hardly any snow anywhere, except on the road...
i made it just around the corner then had all 3 wheels spinning... backing out of there, guess my 40% BF's are'nt good enough for that much.... let dawg run down a spur rd |

Re: post up your camping pics
run into a couple more does. also came across 2 bucks within 30 seconds of each other, but they did not hang around long enough to get a pic, guess the girls like the attention
this is where we were trying to get to, John George lake Last edited by dieseldawg142; 03-29-2016 at 12:22 AM. |

Re: post up your camping pics
Cool pics diesel. Truck looks tough as always.
Good looking train, Steve! I didn't know you could pull doubles in MT. For some reason I always thought that was a Canadian thing. Make sure you can pull straight through at the gas pump!

Re: post up your camping pics
much later than i was hoping, but better late then never...went & snatched the camper out of the boss'es barn (25 anniv. this month kinda pre-empted getting plates on the crew...)
seems like i have to jack the darn thing higher every yr.... 56" to the bed floor, i'm 5' 10" & have to stand on my tippie toes to swing the jack handle all the way threw it's arc... oh for the love of....dawg! the big idjit went for a romp in the swamp beside the barn. aint riding home in the crewcab..... oh yeah! good to have it back home... |

Re: post up your camping pics
i like your wife! wish my wife rode a bike. i "downgraded" my KX to a quad (blah!) just so we could actually ride as a family (dont ask, riding a big bore 2 stroke with your family on quads is like trying to drive a top fueler in rush hour...) sigh.... i miss my bike
and it's just the angle of the pic's, she's my 4 ton honey, 3+3 crew. are you kidding? sitting in a reg cab with my family??.... on my holidays??? |
