Have had some shop time lately and made some good progress.

Got the drive by wire mounted:

Re: Mesquite 1966 C10 - LS3 W/Air Ride

Took her for a little test drive yesterday. Motor is mean, clutch is smooth, tranny shifts like a dream, air ride is very nice.

Had a front wheel that wasn't set on the hub, you can see the passenger side wiggle when I pull back in the driveway. Did not get above 2nd gear for this first ride so just barley noticed the wobble.

Power Steering issues are solved, amazing how things work when they are not hooked up backwards

Here's a little video, TURN IT UP!

Re: Mesquite 1966 C10 - LS3 W/Air Ride

Got a brake question, I have bled the brakes starting with closest, depress pedal and open bleed valve and fluid shoots out with plenty of force.

Pedal never tightens up, brakes only work when almost to the floor. No leaks, I'm thinking master is bad? Is there something with the master I can check or am I SOL?

Thanks,

I've always been told that you're supposed to start with the longest line first. usually you do passenger side rear, driver side rear, passenger side front and then driver side front. if you haven't already double check to make sure you don't have air in the master cylinder. if it wasn't bench bled properly, you'll have air in there that won't escape. once you have that figured out, bleed the lines and the order outlined above. let us know what happens

Good for you! It's great to see them run. I used the same engine in my build and I am close to a test drive as well. I can't wait much longer it's kinda like Christmas. Good work and nice job.

Looking good man !!

How does the brake assist feel with that small booster and the LS ?

Most of our customers complain about crappy brakes.

Small booster and low vacuum from the LS add to that.

Needless to say, we have been doing a lot of HydroBoost swaps lately ...

Again, great work !!

It's was raining like crazy yesterday so I did not get to drive it. I will let you know, I'm not expecting a huge boost but should be 10x's better than the old drums.

Re: Mesquite 1966 C10 - LS3 W/Air Ride

This is my first engine over 400hp and it's all I need, this will be a fun truck for sure. That first test drive is exciting and nerve racking at the same time, took two beers after to bring my nerves down

Thanks for the comments!

Re: Mesquite 1966 C10 - LS3 W/Air Ride

Have taken her on 5 or 6 test drives now, get a little braver with each one.

Engine really come to life at 5,000rpms

Got the Dakota Digital Gauge Speedometer adjusted.

Test mounted the doors, these after market body parts are going to require more attention than they should.

Right now I just have the drivers side set up, I think that will be plenty but haven't tested it yet.
