Re: Let's post 60-66 SUBURBAN Only Pictures
Saved this "Creampuff" from the crusher. Sitting 13 years. Came with a strong 327 and uninstalled, rebuilt 400 tranny. Did disc brake conversion with 2 1/2" drop spindles, 2" drop springs in front, 5" in the back. Scored some OG camper special rims 15x8's and wrapped 'em in some 225/75 tires. Now it's time for a ton of body and interior work.

Cool burb! I love all the 60-66 year burbs but the 60-63 "knee knockers" are my favorite.

That looks like a fairly straight Suburban WhiteWhale
I see you have the vacuum gauge also. What are your plans for your Burb?

Re: Let's post 60-66 SUBURBAN Only Pictures
Wasnt sure if the vacuum gauge was factory or dealer, any more info on it?
Ive already rebuilt the rear suspension, about to put in some new ball joints and springs for the front. All new brakes and tires, swapped out the 16s for some 15s. Dont have a pic but the front has a steel grill from a C60 with new bezels and repro bumper. The sub originally had the bumper guards but the repro bumper has a different profile and will not work. New headman header, 4 chamber 2 1/2" flowmasters. I would like to rebuild the SM420, driveshaft and rear end. I have a PTO for the 420 and thought a winch would be nice. Its a fun fire road truck and gets a ton of "camping miles". If you think 1st gear is too low to use you dont take your truck off road enough! 7.00x15 meat grinders with chains work well with the posi in the snow and mud. Gonna try to upgrade the rear hatch supports to gas units. Found some on McMaster that might work |

Re: Let's post 60-66 SUBURBAN Only Pictures
Running MUCHO better brother, thanks again! I've been driving it daily and working on my garage. Ran 220 for my new 60 gal compressor and 110 outlets for my drill press and other tools, putting up shelves... you know making it a shop so I can really get some things done. Like installing that notch!LOL When you bringing your wife's Sub down off the mountain?

Good to hear!!! Won't be for a couple months I think.... I'm really focused on the 51 Chevy right now. Plus I have to get the garage clear for it too!

Saw a 66 GMC suburban for sale at the big Swap meet at Daytona speedway today. Pretty solid truck with a good V6 in it.

Re: Let's post 60-66 SUBURBAN Only Pictures
a lot of times it depends on the colour of the vehicle and with yours I believe that it accents the wheels moreso
looks good ron |
