Re: Do you need '64-'66 Chevy Truck Parts?

hey Tony,
Was wondering if you could share some info on the pieces of sheetmetal that go below the rear corners of the cab... don't know their proper name. I guess you could call them splash guards.

Do you happen to have a pair? Also, I have no idea how they would mount, so info on that would be great also.

thanks,
Andrew

Andrew:

Thanks for the inquiry. They look like this. I think they are called cab extensions and were commonly found on factory stepside trucks, to close the area between the cab and stepside bed step.

They are secured with lag screws through the back area of the cab floorboard and have a small brace to help stiffen them.

I have a few pairs.

Re: Do you need '64-'66 Chevy Truck Parts?

I know this is a long shot, but I'm looking for hinges for the upper rear hatch from a panel or suburban. Any chance you have any?

Thanks,
Steve

Steve:

Thanks for the inquiry. Unfortunately, I don't have any Panel/Suburban parts in my 4-5-6 Chevy truck parts inventory.

You may try a fellow who goes by the name RJ over on www.stovebolt.com. He deals with a lot of '60-'66 Panel/Suburban parts and I have done some business with him in the past. Another fellow to try would be colettesbro on the stovebolt site. Both of these fellows are good to deal with and have lots of '60-'66 Chevy truck/Panel/Suburban parts to choose from.

Sorry I couldn't help you with this item, but please keep me in mind for other 4-5-6 Chevy truck parts in the future.

Good evening. I replied to your e-mail and unfortunately, I don't have any photos of the clutch pedal assembly, clutch fork or "Z" bar to post, but I can take some and post later. Sorry...I don't usually have requests for these types of parts.

Here are a few photos of the clutch pedal, "z" bar and clutch fork. I haven't taken the clutch pedal loose from the pedal assembly, but you get the idea.

Please let me know if I can help you with items or other 4-5-6 Chevy truck parts in the future.

Tony,

I left a voicemail on on your cell today about the brake/clutch pedal assembly that you have pictures of on one of your recent posts, I hope you don't mind. Is that for sale? If so, I am in Independence Missouri and am in need of it. Thank you for your time Tony.

Karl:

Thanks for the heads-up. I have the linkage parts you are talking about. Depending on what bits you need, I will work with you on combining bits and shipping to save on costs.

jason65:

Thanks for the heads-up. Let me know what day, because I am not always at the shop and I don't want to miss you.

I will be at the Chiefs game on Sunday, so Friday evening or Saturday is the best for me, if that works for you.

Let me know and I look forward to showing you the 4-5-6 Chevy trucks/parts, that I have.

Re: Do you need '64-'66 Chevy Truck Parts?

Tony,
I have a 64' SWB fleet that I am wanting to lower 6' in the rear or more. So with that said I am planning on putting in ECE's center drop crossmember for clearence issues there. Thus bringing me to my final issue of using their Super trac bar kit that is suppose to be only good on trucks starting in 65' due to the fact of where the stock pan hard bar mounts on the frame. I guess the location differs on my 64' I dont know cuz I have nothing to compare it to. Anyways do you think if I was able to get a later model frame side mounting bracket it would mount up to my 64' and work? Which brings me to my last thing of........would you have one of these mounts?

Sorry for the short novel
Any help is much apprieciated.

Tom

Re: Do you need '64-'66 Chevy Truck Parts?

Thanks Tony! I checked with RJ over at stovebolt and he does in fact have a pair!

If I ever need anything else 4-5-6 related, you will be the first one I come to!

Your'e killing me Smalls...just kidding. I bet you hear that all the time! I am glad you found what you needed and please keep me in mind for your other 4-5-6 Chevy truck parts in the future. RJ is a good source of parts and information about the 4-5-6 Chevy trucks. He has a pretty good nitch going on over there at stovebolt, so keep him in mind, as well for some of the hard to find stuff.

PS-www.stovebolt.com is another good source of information and parts. Several members here can be found lurking around over there, as well.

Tom:

Thanks for the inquiry. I will have to check the '64 and '65-'66 2wd frames I have to see if there is any difference between the years. In any case, I have a '64 and a '65-'66, so I am sure I can help you in either case. I will need to remove it from the frame, so I will wait to hear from you before doing so.

As far as the other lowering/frame modification questions, I am a little under-educated on that stuff, because I run my stuff on the stock running gear, however ChiefRocka, PrerunnerRob, MorbidFabrication, YOLO and a few others on this site can chime in and shore you up on what works. They are some of the very active fabricators on this site and have done this type of thing. They may have a better suggestion than trying to fabricate/modify a factory panhard bar frame mount.

Also, you should post your questions in the Suspension forum or in the general forum for '60-'66 Chevy trucks, because you will get a great deal of good information from the experts. Let me know if can help you with this part or other 4-5-6 Chevy truck parts in the future.

PS-to the fellows that I didn't mention above as the fabricators on this site, those were the few names that came to mind at 4:00am, so no offense if I left you off the list.

Thanks for gettin back to me. I'll have to do some more research on the suspension forum and see what it is that I need to do to make things work. I do have another inquiry though. Would you happen to have and or know where to get a power stearing pump bracket for an inline 250?
