Re: Let's see some 73-87 1 Ton Dually Pictures!

Here is my 84 c30 I bought 5 months ago. It came with a 350 stock drive train and a 8x12 flatbed. I daily drive this thing and most of the upgrades were done on weekends.

Upgraded to rear disc breaks

New hydroboost and lines

Mudflaps

Welded the bed to the frame(the back would wander)

Installed new quiet flow mufflers

Yanked the old engine and stuffed this one in.

Installed a 6al to work with the new motors mechanical dizzy

AVS carb

Cold air intake

Opps

Headers I had laying around

Had some exhaust bent up

End result

This weekend I finished up the rest of the break system with new front calipers and master cylinder

Here is a video of going up and down the road with exterior view.

Is that 4" or 6" lift? It sits really good. Also.....do you just pop off your wheel cover when you need to lock in the hubs?

Re: Let's see some 73-87 1 Ton Dually Pictures!

This dually is not too car from me. Rust free with a 454/TH400, 4.10 posi rear, factory interior conversion with bucket seats/console, the rear 'cover' is accessible through the cab and has little jumpseats....first I've ever seen one! Guy wanted $4500 for it with a lot of new parts on it but I passed on it. Cool as hell though and mostly all original still. Its an 81 GMC and even has a dealer installed tow hitch of which I've never seen one like it either. Its so over the top it cool!

6'' and yes covers have the retainer ring and snap on/off very difficult to locate those caps

Well I like it. Very clean looking. Never thought steel wheels could look so good, lol. Are they 19.5's?

Re: Let's see some 73-87 1 Ton Dually Pictures!

My 83. Currently has a healthy 454/400/205. As soon as I move back home and can work on it, it's going to get a 489/4L80E/205 setup. runs great as is. Tows like a beast. But with the 4.56 gears the highway is Kryptonite.

Planning on buying it. Have to sell my 03 crewcab for the rest of the money. Then I can buy it and a box truck. It has 155,000 original miles.
