Re: Our '66 Short Fleet Build
alright fellas, got another question for you's
what trans mount do you use for the 700r-4? if i look a mount up by the years of trucks that had the 700r-4, it shows this one but i think i need one like this for the original cross member, and beside that, i like the looks of it better so.....will a th350 or th400 mount work on the 700r-4???

I believe that is what I used on my 700R4 that I was going to use.

Its easy now!!! Bags help you jack up a truck faster than ever. I'll look at it closer tomorrow and snap a shot or two.

Re: Our '66 Short Fleet Build
The older 2 bolt mount for a th350 or 400 will work on a 700R4. You might need to open up the holes to accomodate the metric bolts......can't remember for sure.

Re: Our '66 Short Fleet Build
Hey, I guess I lied!!! Took a couple days to get under the truck and it had the square mount. Gettin olds a *****!!!
Anyway, here was what was under mine, Joe. If you see anything falling apart, let me know. Looks like a factory type x-member...I used an aftermarket one in the pick-up. It looked like the one you had in the pic but has gussets off the frame mounts too. It is the heaviest one ever made by the now defunct 'Turner Enterprises'.

Re: Our '66 Short Fleet Build
Bedliner just doesn't seem right to use on the frame to me. I would paint the frame and maybe bedliner the underside of the body, the cab floor , or inside the bed. Thats just my opinion......and you what they say about opinions.

Re: Our '66 Short Fleet Build
You better be WELL thought out if youre gonna bed line a frame!! I wouldnt do it in case its a mess to drill thru or something. What if you want to add some new shiny clamps or lines, ya know what Im saying?
