Definitely glad I wasn't waiting on the products....if I were I would recommend going through a vendor here who has the products in stock.

I will get pictures when I get back in town and get caught up....have been traveling a lot recently. Got a new job that's had me training in AL and now DE.

Re: Project#1: Bright Horizons - 68 Swb big block on Air!

Long time with no updates (or work) here. I have been on the road a LOT recently and just haven't had time to work on the truck. I do have a really cool update though!!!

Found some AWESOME wheels for this truck! The owner bought them and they were shipped to me this week.
(From the ad)
A brand new set of Raceline Deceptives. They are 22x8.5 and 22x10
Still in box. Also have 4 brand new tires never mounted.
Two Nitto 265/35/22 and two 285/35/22

Pics to follow!

Have you decided to keep the truck or are you still selling it, I only ask because you keep buying shiny stuff for it

This one never was mine...it's forum member Jastos truck. I'm building it to his request with input on what I think will work. I found the wheels and asked if he liked them as much as I did and he pulled the trigger and purchased them.
I was building the 67stepside truck (proj #2 in my links) for myself as a shop truck but that one is now going to be sold to purchase a vehicle for my wife.

Thanks!
I hope so. I am also going to be getting some help on completing it possibly from board member Tinkermc who does body work. I have someone very interested in my 67 truck and hope to finish that up soon.

Thanks, my biggest concern is it working out for Jastos. This project never was going to be a big money maker for me...it was to get me into the business and have something to show future clients. But with my new job I won't be able to do a truck business for the forseeable future (maybe a retirement hobby). In fact, I will most likely lose money on this project as I am going to need to pay others to help me complete it. But my priority is getting it done well and as soon as I can so he can start enjoying it.

Re: Project#1: Bright Horizons - 68 Swb big block on Air!

Okay...after a long time there will be some great progress soon! I purchased a project off of Ebay that will help move forward this truck BIG time! It's got a shaved firewall already which was planned for this truck (still have to install the "mirror" piece to match the other side) It's also had the drip rails shaved, cab mounts, corners, and rockers replaced, and has New doors already fitted to the cab at a body shop. It also comes with new short bedsides and all the parts for a wood bed including a tailgate. It's got the wrong front end but it's all new so I'll sell that to purchase other parts and recoup a portion of the investment.

Re: Project#1: Bright Horizons - 68 Swb big block on Air!

Here's a little something else I scored tonight...might have been bidding against someone here for all I know but I was very happy with the deal I got on them on ebay. New CPP modular 2" drop spindles with Wilwood calipers. Jastos has been stepping up in upgrading this truck and I've done the same on some parts I've gotten good deals on. well since he got the Awesome rims, we needed something nicer behind those big rollers. I also over the last few weeks have picked up porterbuilt front shock mounts and new shocks and porterbuilt rear trac bar/shock mounts.

Re: Project#1: Bright Horizons - 68 Swb big block on Air!

got the truck (well....at least the frame I'll be using ) Back in my driveway. It was a costly thing but glad it's here now. Looking forward to July 8th when I should get the other truck and can start swapping things over shortly after that and get a real move-on with the project.

Picture with Proj#2 in the garage from yesterday (you can also see the cpp boxes with the willwood brakes in the garage door opening )

When I get the new cab/bed on the 8th the project will start back in full swing the following weekend....and will be about 2 months fast-forwarded from where it's at right now. I don't have a firm ETA since I travel so much for my job and I sometimes only get a week or two notice before I am sent somewhere...
