Let there be tail lights! Ok the markers and the tail lights work, but no brake lights! Arg! Can't this ever be easy! Oh well I will tackle that later in the week.

Stay tuned!

The pedastal looks great! Wiring on these rigs can always be fun! (If that's what you call it?)

Thanks man! The pedestal looks a lot better since I did some bodywork on it and shot some flat black on it. I will have some more pics in a couple of days. I missed a couple of small spots so I want to do one more finish work on it.

Actually these trucks are fairly straight forward as far as wiring goes. I don't mind wiring when I am not rushed. Normally I can sit down and go through it piece by piece, but the deadline on LST is creeping up way too fast this year. Might have to call in the troops! Now I just need some troops!!

That's funny! Actually it is the plastic wrap around the back bucket seats. I try hard to not make enemies like that!

Re: 75 Dually build

So we got part of the puzzle figured out tonight on the tail lights. We now have the brake lights figured out, which is good. The turn signals are working fine up front, but the rear is not working correctly. When you move the turn stalk to the right both lights come on, and when you turn to the left nothing. So it is either in the turn signal switch or maybe in the flasher relay. Not sure. A very good friend of mine who is a great auto tech came over tonight and patiently went through the wiring diagrams and got us this far. Hopefully soon we will have those gremlins figured out and we can move to other larger items on the list.

Make sure you have real good grounds. I had a lot of issues with gm military trucks with same light issues.

I second this. Id bet money your rear grounds for your tail lights are not good or your missing a ground strap from the bed to the frame.

I will double check the grounds, good idea. All the bed parts are actually mounted to the tubing frame work which is welded to the frame. So running a ground strap is not needed, but if I did not have that your idea would have been perfect.

My feeling right now is that it is in the turn signal switch or in something else. I need to trace down each of the wires and confirm continuity and proper location too.

Re: 75 Dually build

Also check the light sockets for ground. They are known to go bad. Anyway to unplug the harness from the steering column and add 12v straight to each wire. That should let you know if it's either broken wire in column or turn signal switch.

Great idea Paul. Good way to narrow down a fault like this. I'll let you know what happens.

Re: 75 Dually build

An update on the dually. The Accuair is now fully operational!!! To celebrate I put my Accuair sticker in the back window. It even works well with the 1/2" Aigbaggit valve finally... So happy to have that boxed checked off. Now to get the other boxes checked off before the end of the month, LST is right around the corner!

Stay tuned!

Haven't had time. Last week I was at a meeting all week, so I hope to figure it out over the next couple of days.

The turn signals are not on the top of the list right now anyways. I most likely will trailer it to LST so I need to get a bunch of other things completed first before we roll.

That definitely needs to change! I understand that working to much stuff... Life seems like stretch Armstrong, and everyone important has a limb and is pulling for all it's worth!

Thanks for the kind words! Yeah that is a bit of a haul for you, but would it be worth it? Only if you bring your friends along with you! Don't tell me that would not be a blast!!
