Re: pdx-sanity66
I called about my new trans today and the trans guy said it would probably be done this afternoon but I'm not going to pick it up until my next days off. I've got a Blazers game to go to in a few minutes and I go back to work tomorrow so it will have to wait. In the meantime I picked up some rattle cans and did some blasting and painting of some drivetrain stuff. I got my new trans cross member from CPP and promptly sanded down the shiny black powder coat and painted it chassis black, I got my Serpentine system painted and the pulleys bead blasted.

Re: pdx-sanity66
I picked up this console lid awhile back but when I got it, it had more pitting than I had planned. I thought it was just chromed pot metal and maybe later on I might rechrome it unless I found something I liked better. I drug it out last night while looking through some other stuff and realized it was aluminum not steel. This is cool. I can deal with cleaning it up and making it pretty. I'm hoping to make my own center console with this as the lid. It has a lock with the key. These pix are after I had taken the lock off and started some sanding on it

Awesome build. I'm starting on my own 66. Would love to come see your truck sometime. I'm in the forest grove area so probably not too far from you.

My goals seem to always be about 6 months ahead of me so we'll see. Right now I'm having a blast spending money and prepping stuff to get the engine and trans in. A nice change from body work for awhile.

Re: pdx-sanity66
Brett, your truck is coming along f*&%$@ awesome! I think you are doing a great job! I love the motor choice and that you are staying with the period correct exhaust. The fabrication on the seats is unbelievable!!! It was cool to see the old pictures of your '55 and Duane's truck and camper. I loved it! Tell everyone hello, and I will be waiting for more.

Re: pdx-sanity66
Thanks, I've been sketching out some ideas on the box. I think it's going to work out great.
Thanks for checking out my thread. Here's what I braved "the day before Thanksgiving traffic mess" to go and pick up today. My newly rebuilt 700r4.

Re: pdx-sanity66
Well, we had a great Thanksgiving and I ate too much. I had a bad case of too much party so the work on Sanity suffered a little this week. I did get my brake lines all sorted out and installed. I am still missing a few fittings that I need to pick up but I wasn't about to go shopping this weekend. I don't do the crowd thing too well. I also got my pulleys painted that I stripped last weekend and I got the motor mount perches stripped and painted. I've got a package from Summit that should be here Monday. Motor mounts, intake gaskets and bolts, and a few other small parts I needed to proceed. When it arrives I can start bolting things up in preparation for getting the engine and trans mounted in the chassis.

Re: pdx-sanity66
I spent a couple of hours yesterday chasing down some brake line fittings. 3 stops before I found what I needed. Then I worked some more on my center console lid. Bead blasted, 150 grit, 220, 350, 500, 1000, and finally 1200 grit so far. It's getting there. And here's a pic of the pulleys as requested.

Re: pdx-sanity66
PDX great job on the bead blasting. Are you using a cabinet? Also where do you get you glass beads in different grits?
