Pic 1 In epoxy primer, now you can see the body line better.
Pic 2 In high build primer, don't have one in the final gray primer.

Re: My 50 roadster pickup build
After blasting I painted the bottom with POR, immediately after painting I sprayed a thin layer of primer on this. That way you can sand and paint without coming off.

Re: My 50 roadster pickup build
I was wondering if you'd do anything with the rear cab seam, guess I just needed to wait and see....
How much work did it take to clean up the seam after being welded? I did something similar, welded it and ground it somewhat. I'm thinking of making a profile template off the doors and trying to get a similar profile on the back wall (since the doors never had a seam to begin with). I tried to make sure my welds were hot and quick so as not to build up too much material in there, and I think it worked pretty good but I'm trying to get some insight into what it'll take to make it look good....and yours looks good. Thanks!

Re: My 50 roadster pickup build
Thanks, I appreciate the kind words. I had never done anything like this before, just said give it a try and it came out OK. Now I'm not saying I would try brain surgery, but don't cut yourself short, we all have talents. More pics to come. Jim

Re: My 50 roadster pickup build
At this point you are thinking is this guy crazy or what, paint the axle flanges. Well my thinking is if I take everything apart and put back together, it has given me the chance to check everything, retorque all bolts, etc. I feel a lot safer the first time out and it's just time and a little paint. If something does go wrong, it's easier to work with clean parts. This is NOT a show truck, eventhough I go to many local shows, I drive this thing everwhere it goes, it's NOT trailered, and it's been put away wet many times. This is just how I build my stuff. Enough BS

Pic 1 Engine and trans in place on frame.
Pic 2 Brake setup installed and running brake lines. Yes I also paint my brake lines. I use silicone brake fluid, so I don't worry about eating paint.
