That's kinda what I meant since most trucks in the 60's were bare bones. Napco as an example for the 4WD or the aftermarket AC units and the like.

they didn't use Napco in the 60's except on special order on 1 ton and over

Something else that is weird, it looks like this had a split tail gate setup at one point and was converted to barn doors. I have not seen any panels that had the hinge pockets for the upper tailgate. Makes me wonder if this was come coach built conversion panel.

I haven't seen those hinge pockets on a panel before in my searches either...the interior side-panels being finished with sheet metal when all panels I have seen and told about are bare bones interiors...makes you think the panel was altered for a specific business use similar to the one above.

On another note...I found a guy in San Diego with the upper trim piece I am missing to finish off the interior side panels...I am thinking some nice wood paneling for the ceiling to match the wood floor. Then all I got to do is find some bucket seats for the front, switch out my 283 for the 350 I inherited, and some misc. stuff then its a runner.

That guy in San Diego is a nice guy. I bought some steel wheels and some taillight lenses from him for my 66 Sub a few years ago. Now I need to make a list for my 61 Panel and go visit him...

the fact that it has the upper molding is wierd. It looks like its part suburban. In my search for my panel i found a 66 lwb panel with a lift gate/ tail gate, boy did that look funny.

jon, how are thoses side panels attached? I will try and get you pics of the seats soon, mark

As visible in the picture above at the roof rails the side panel is screwed into the inner framework at those points. I believe it tucks into the lower panel before it is screwed down. I haven't disassembled it to know exactly...Odd that there are inside sheet metal panels on a panel truck...seats are from a Suburban...panels with barn doors never had openings for the tailgate back? (I was wondering what those holes were...So, I guess they don't have delete plates for them either) Its looking like I have a Heinz 57 panel truck.

jon ,this is a suburban parts truck i have. Thoses bumps in the middle and on the ends are where the window trim screws to.those are the same on yours but its a solid panel. Yours also has the same roof insulation as a suburban i wander if its a one off?

That just confirms that my interior panels are Chevy made with both vehicles having the same screw in trim mounts but I have no trim. 1 off...you mean they pulled a carryall and made it a panel? maybe that is why it has those 60/40 seats. Those buckets sure would finish that panel off good though. jon

with the location of those hinge pockets...I don't see a spot to bolt that giant "door check" like thinggy for each barn door...

I understand that I am speaking from the next generation and am only guessing, but my 1968 has the hatch /tailgate. There are plugs in the side posts that can be removed to reveal the bolt holes for doors, and at the same time, has no holes for the upper and lower door latches.

How about your 67 panel? Does it have the holes for the lift gate like mine?

jon, that panel had to be stamped out and installed when the sides were put together. Its spot welded in.when i was searching for my panel i looked at at least 200 to 300 panels and your is the only one that has those panels.the parts suburban that i have has both places for the hinges, mark

They are just like in my panel but that would imply I am missing some trim...I was just going to put a polished wood bumper strip down each side.

Heres a few pics of an interesting 64 I came across online. The windows are much different than the usual ones we see. I think its a panel with added windows?
