Re: Here is a "Not Your Typical" 4wd Blazer build
Why would you sell it after all that work? Arenīt you emotionally connected to your blazer?? I know I am to my K20 and nobody could pay me enough to get rid of it!!!

Re: Here is a "Not Your Typical" 4wd Blazer build
BACK FROM THE DEAD! Joey gave me a hell of a deal so my buddy and I drove down south saturday and picked it up. Its on my driveway for now, ass soon as i get the deavers and some other parts it will head to the shop to get finished up.
After reading this thread Im interested to see what he had thunk up for a rear cantilever? I havent been on this forum since I started my cab over project thats been sitting since my wife started nursing school- hopefully this thing being so close to running will keep me motivated.

Re: Here is a "Not Your Typical" 4wd Blazer build
3 months later the deavers arrived. You know what they say, better late than never. Its at my shop now that I have most of the parts lined up to finish it. Had to ditch the th350 for a 4l80e. Still going to run the 205. Picked up a vintage air unit as well as a Dakota Digtial VHX dash and Painless wiring harness and some 8 lug hubs and 8 lug wheels with 35's . I was going to throw it together real quick but since I had so much wait time to think on it we decided to make it a little nicer.

Did you go with a stock length spring? I opted for spring under axle and we stretched them out about a foot longer than stock

Re: Here is a "Not Your Typical" 4wd Blazer build
i hear you- This one isnt cut up but it has so much cage and the front suspension already done so im going for it.
well it was cheaper to buy a new 205 for a TH400 than adapt the 350 unit. Drove up to auburn a grab one. Its in the parts washer as we speak. Hopefully it all checks out. The advance adapter showed up as well. Really excited to make some head way!

Re: Here is a "Not Your Typical" 4wd Blazer build
got the fenders and I gotta say for $900 im not impressed. I build street rods for a living, ive worked with dozens of glass companies in the industry and ive never seen something so poor. Ive called them and was told that im exaggerating how bad they are. Pretty much told me to **** off. I offered to send them pics of what im not happy about and he spelled out his email real quick and rushed me off the phone.
Major air pockets between plies of glass, fenders arent symmetrical. Fenders dont line up with grill or even remotely have the same shape. The molds they are popping parts out of look like they have never been maintained or even finished in the first place. I could literally make my own set of fenders in the amount of time it would take to make these presentable and glass them to a steel inner.

Re: Here is a "Not Your Typical" 4wd Blazer build
Man, I'm sorry I found this thread so late. I could have saved you the cash. Those Hanneman sets are turrible, as you've seen first hand. They aren't even '72 fenders. They are molded from 67-68 fenders from what I recall. I was going to use them on my Blazer until I did some research on them.
Hopefully you can get them to give you a refund.

You'll love the Deavers. I have Deavers and King triple bypasses on the rear of mine and it soaks up everything. I almost wish I would have saved the money doing the radius/panhard front on mine and just done Deavers and bypasses there as well.

Turns out I bought the wring transfer case last time around. Got the correct one now, cleaned off the old perches on the 03 axle. Just about to roll it in and start on the rear suspension.
