You still don't have those chairs painted? What about the blower box on the truck?
That's a negative foxtrot! I'm not sure now if I should paint it or not. I may have to tear it open and check things out. I'm not sure if I have heat.

Re: John's Project

Hey you can spend all the quality time with our trucks that you want, as long as progress is made. Doesn't have to be a lot of progress, just progress.

Oh and the reason you don't have heat is because it's not as hot outside right now. Sorry couldn't resist. That's what you get for fixing your a/c so well. Now your heater doesn't work.

Just the fact that you think my a/c is working so well tells me that you're not up to speed on things around here!

Re: John's Project

Thanks Troy. I hope to have some pics Monday. I'm pulling the motor out then, and will get after the engine compartment. Yeah I have a Thumpr cam in the new engine. Can't wait to get it in and fire it up to see what it sounds like.

Your a funny guy Travis.

Lol, I get up and leave for work by 4:30 a.m., and I work in OKC. And I still made time for Steveo. Worth the drive to watch Perf break his truck too.

Re: John's Project

Ok here are the pics. Not much to look at. My uncle came over this morning and helped me pull the engine and tranny. Went pretty smooth since I already had everything unbolted, and unhooked.

Didn't get any pics of the engine. Needless to say it was NASTY! I gave the engine to a kid that works for me. He has a 86 SWB 4x4 that is a play truck for him. He was wanting another engine in case the 305 he has goes south. I didn't have any use for it, and didn't have anywhere to store it. So it's a win win. I have the 350 tranny, but didn't get any pics of it either. If you have seen one you have seen them all. Same as the engine, nasty!

So now it's on to cleaning it up. Going to load it on a trailer and take it to the car wash and get the biggest part of the gunk off. Then going to get everything cleaned up and painted. Then get the new engine, and tranny and get them painted. My uncle said he would help me put the new one in, and help sort out, and clean up the wiring.

Re: John's Project

Now your talking! That looks exactly like the whole bottom side of my son's truck before I hit it with the power washer. It was so nasty it was hard to work on. Glad to see the pics....keep them coming!

Re: John's Project

Hey just take a look at the words of wisdom under my screen name.

Thanks for the words of encouragement guys. Only reason I'm taking it to the car wash is because I don't have a power washer. That and all the junk can mess up the car wash not my driveway .

Yeah the progress may slow just a bit. As some of you know we have been tossing around the idea of selling the Mustang, and finding a Trailblazer SS. Well I found one yesterday, and we are looking into buying it. So if we get that then the reigns are getting tightened on the budget for a while. Not too much though, just for a month or so to make the adjustment to the new payment. Since the engine is already paid for, and just waiting it will get installed and done. So by the time that is in and ready we should be back on track to continue.
