I didn't see where you listed your drop size which is why I included the 'disclaimer' that it wouldn't work @ 5/7 drops or more.

Hey guys i'm new here, and have been following this post since the beginning. I have a 95 C1500, that i'm putting these wheels on, and wanted to let you guys know that they wont fit the 88-98 without a spacer. I will be running 20x8.5's in the front and a 7/32nds spacer and have to trim the tabs on the center cap. As for the rears they will be a 20x10, as you guys already know, they are on national back order. I've been wating on these since July, i could have opted out for a set of the black ones, but then i would have had 2 grey ones to get rid of. I decided to wait it out because the grey ones are a textured spoke, i beleave the ones on Benji's Blue truck were black ones painted grey, im not 100% sure but the 2 20x8.5's i have are textured spokes.

We just got a set of these in for a customer; 20x10's in the silver finish. When we ordered them on Monday of last week, there were five left in the whole country.

They debuted the 22" version at SEMA 2 weeks ago, and are shooting for Feb. 2010. The others are looking to be available 2nd week of December.

Tires are 275-40-20's all around, they are what i had so i have to get my use out of them. The rear needs to be at least a 295-40-20 so it dosent looked stretched, as for the drop, i'm not 100% sure but i belive its a 3/5 drop. It was lowered when i bought it. Front uses a 7/32 spacer and the caps trimmed and the dust cap hammered. Bolt pattern is the only thing that fits like it should. I will probaly end up using a 1/2" spacer to widen the stance once i get a set of 295'2 for the rear. Here is a pic of the cap trimmed next to one thats not trimmed.

Thanks to the guys communicating on the behalf of everyone on the forum to get these wheels re-tooled for our trucks.

I just read through the whole thread and have a few questions.

1. According to Boss's website these wheels are made in the USA. Is this true, or is it simply they are painted or machined here. Some may think this is trivial, but I can't stand the junk that comes from china. This will be the first determining factor if were to buy a set.


2. I saw in this thread and others that the earlier axles are narrower.
Does anyone know if you can run a 71 axle shaft in a 68 housing? I know someone will chime in about extra bearing loads so on and so forth. Which is correct, the bearing loads will be greater, however I've done this in my Fox body Mustang road race car in the past and didn't have an issue in 3 years of racing. Ford actually did this in production, the 94-97 Mustangs have the same housing width as a Fox body, but longer axle shafts by 3/4" per side.

I also realize this means I'll have to do some fab work on the brakes. This is fine as I had already planned on this anyway.

I'm intending on running 18x9.5s on all 4 corners. I'm not in a great hurry as I'm still collecting the 5 lug parts.

Hey Jason,... welcome to the board.

The 71-72 rearend housings are wider so they won't fit in the earlier 63-70 housings. There are a ton of suppliers that make "aftermarket 5-lug" axles that will fit your narrower axle housing.
(Moser Engineering, ECE, Summit Racing, etc).
I would think for the price these wheels are made over seas.
My 20" rims cost around $700 total,... for all four wheels. That was why I purchased them.

What I'm trying to accomplish is put the longer axle in the narrower housing. I've see the axles from ECE, which are at a pretty good price.

My goal is to make sure the track doesn't look goofy being narrower in the rear. I'm also largely opposed to spacers. The reason I wanted to avoid swapping to a 71-72 axle, was because my axle has a pretty recent Auburn diff. I didn't want to pay to have if moved over, but I suppose it woudn't be the end of the world if I had to do so.


I figured they were probably made in China, but their side does say made in USA.

That makes me feel a little better. I realize stuff can still be crap even though it's made in the good ole USA, but I rarely ever buy anything that's made in China, b/c i usually have to buy it twice.

Appearance-wise, not enough sidewall for a truck IMHO. Rubber bands are fine on a ricer (if that's your thing) but I like to see a little more meat on a pickup, even with 20s. The white truck above is perfect (again IMHO).
