Re: second chance 67 chevy, project from hell
You can say that again. I thought about bidding on it and buying it back but I thought it would be wrong. The truck was stuck at 10000 for about minute and 30 secs and I thought I would have to buy it back but then it started to go up. Really the time slot is what screwed me. It went from standing room only to 200 people in there, 5 cars before I went. It was a bad move on my part should have walked on friday after the blood bath I witnessed. It just seemed like everyone including the auctioners just wanted to go home. It cost me atleast 20-30 grand. Live and learn it was an expensive trip. All I can say is atleast I did not pay someone to build it or I would have really taken a bath.

Re: second chance 67 chevy, project from hell
Hope I dont sound like I am angry because I am not. It was my choice to bring the truck there. I just think they were not up front with me. I was told speed and prime time. I was told we are really going to push this truck and it was not. Its ok I hope it went to a good home. Not to mention it did well at every show it went to and did make the cover of street trucks so its cool.

Just curious if you had it do over, would you go a different route? It seems Barrett Jackson is the wrong place if you don't have a Hemi /Cuda or a all original something special. I noticed some other customs that sold aweful cheap too. Just my thoughts? Hmmm? |

Re: second chance 67 chevy, project from hell
The only thing I would have done different is I would of taken it to Scottsdale and not Orange County. I would be suprised if they ever hold an auction there again. It was really bad.

Re: second chance 67 chevy, project from hell
here it is in action in case no one has seen....
just now stubling across this build by looking threw your build for your wife.....my opinion-- F barrett also-- not because of your case only, but because of a build threw another family member of mine did....he got nothing, receipts he had added up greater than the selling price.....

Found out what you are asking. Good luck with the sell. Going to be tough to get that kind of money for it.

Re: second chance 67 chevy, project from hell
I too felt a slight bit of animosity towards him with his descriptions in the first video (but hey, we all start somewhere). I believe he called the brackets braces among a few other things that stuck out to me. Kind of felt like he was reading from a paper as well, or at least using one for queues. But video aside and in all seriousness, that is one of the nicest custom trucks on here. Hope it ends its journey with a great owner.

Re: second chance 67 chevy, project from hell
Thats what happens when you dont have your blood and hard work in the project. But I have to say its not his fault he got a killer deal on the truck. I think it will be very difficult to get 80000 for the truck but if he does it was a great investment

Re: second chance 67 chevy, project from hell
I really like this truck, reread the street trucks issue numerous times, I never thought to look here for a build thread. You've got some nice trucks and bikes. Thanks for sharing all the pictures.

Re: second chance 67 chevy, project from hell
Wow, that's the first time I had seen the videos....all I can say is go figure. Not sure about the driver on the demo video, he did come within inches of that curb...I know those one off rims cost some serious bank too. Damn
