Re: My 76

Got some news on the truck situation. Today me and my dad bought a 92 sonoma v-6 5 speed for $600. Its a little rough, but it runs and drives good. I will not be scrapping out my 76, but instead I will finish it up right. I wont be working on it for awhile, as I got to fix up this sonoma a little and I need a break from working on the truck all the time. But give me about 2-3 months, and I will have some serious up-dates for the 76. In the mean time, I will be spending some time in the s10 forum.

Traitor! JK . I think you'll like your little S truck, I've had a few (still got a Blazer), good on fuel and somewhat reliable. You got a 4.3 or 2.8 in 'er?

Re: My 76

2.8, I think I will to. Plus me and my parents figured that since I will have to drive 60 miles round trip to college next year, my 76 wouldnt have been the best choice. Right now Im looking for some wheels to put on it. But I cant find any cheap ones.

Re: My 76

The 2.8's have a tendency to wear out but, the last one I sold is still running smooth at about 350,000 Km (210,000 miles). Any of the GM RWD car wheels will fit, so that opens up your options quite a bit. Any pics? (Maybe this thread should be moved over to the S10 section now )

Re: My 76

Well my dad started it up yesterday and the motor is strong at 270,000 miles. And thanks on the wheels, I wander if my sis would mind me using her camero wheels...

Re: My 76

I got some news on this project. It is gonna get re-done and done right this time. I failed over the summer cause I went at it without a plan or a good time limit to get stuff done. Plus I went over my budget by a lot. So as of today, I am planning this build. The plan will be very detailed, down to the last nut and bolt. This build will not be started till January 1st, I am going to save up as much as I can till then, so I can get a good start on the build. Now on to the first part of the plan.

My budget for the whole truck will be $4000 over a 2 year period. So far Ive got me a note book and I have started to write down stuff that has to be done and stuff that I want to add/customize on it. There in two different list, what I will do is get prices on all of it together, then go through my list and see what I can actually afford to do to the truck. The first thing I plan to do is the front suspension. I will take it all the way down to bare frame(only the front end, up to were the frame goes under the cab) and I will clean it up and paint it with POR15. I plan to use all new bushings and tie rods. I will also go ahead and put some 3in lowering springs in when I go to do this. My first question is, what all do I need for the front end? Besides ball joints, what exactly do I need? If someone will, will you post a list for me?
