Re: Project "Funky Monkey"
Looks good. The AAW wiring kit is time consuming, but is really easy to follow for a person who has never wired an entire car. That's kinds how I look at when I finished installing mine

Re: Project "Funky Monkey"
The forum has pulled thru again. I trailered my truck down to Chuckmc8's shop and hopefully today we will have the Porterbuilt hood hinges installed, shave the firewall AND have the new Slosh Tubz installed.
progress so far...

I'll be following this closely, I'll be installing the Porterbuilt hinges and Slosh Tubz in the next few months.

Re: Project "Funky Monkey"
pics of what chuck and I did this past weekend.
The PB hood hinges look awesome but I am a little disappointed at the same time. I bought the set with the gas assist and two things really bother me. With the gas assist installed the hood only opens about half way (than with the factory hinges) without the gas assist they open up wide enough for a small man to stand on top of my motor. Then... the second problem. The gas assist will not even hold my hood up. I even tried swapping them over to see if I installed them upside-down and it still will not hold the hood up. I have been fretting over this for days because I was so excited to get them install. Opening that hood for the first time was kinda like hooking up with the head cheerleader and right when you get to third base she stand up, punches you right in the throat and walks out saying "love you...can I see you tomorrow". WHAT?!?!...NOOO!!!...WHYY!?!?!

Re: Project "Funky Monkey"
Call Nate.
Seems like he had a different gas strut (heavier) in the latest version,... to hold the hood up.

Re: Project "Funky Monkey"
I'm going to shoot him an email today. I really wish it opened up more. I guess once I get thru working under the hood it won't bother me AS BAD. But its still something I think PB should work on.
