Re: New life for an old 2wd, farm Blazer
New wipers installed. Original carpet strip wasn't quite nice enough to reuse. I went with a wood bed strip, in stainless. These work really nice for a replacement!

Re: New life for an old 2wd, farm Blazer
Got the seats back from my interior guy. Material had to be sourced from SMS, as they were the only place on the planet with the correct material. It is NOS material, dated 7-71 on the backside.

Re: New life for an old 2wd, farm Blazer
Drivers seat had a twist and had to be straightened.
Black covering on bottom side of seats isn't original, but it looks a lot nicer than the bare foam.

Re: New life for an old 2wd, farm Blazer
Went with a reproduction AM/FM radio, and stereo speaker. Had to modify the speaker bracket to hold the new speaker.

I couldn't find any material listings for our trucks (only cars) so you'll have to call.

I have the same radio. For the money, I'm a little put off at the quality of the push buttons , they should be radiused not square edged. Did you notice? Just bugs me.

Wow! I didn't realize how long it's been since I posted pics. Here are some more.
Joel decided on some Foose Legend series wheels. Went with 18"x8", all the way around.

Re: New life for an old 2wd, farm Blazer
Since this blazer isn't slammed on the ground, we went with a tire with some sidewall, rather than some o-ring tires.

Re: New life for an old 2wd, farm Blazer
Since this thing was pretty much finished at this point, except for some minor things, I entered it in our local car show. It's not a huge show, but one of "big" local car events. I think they had 160 entrys this year. It showed pretty well. It won first in its class, as well as best paint, which also paid $500. Hopefully that means his check will be good for the bill. LOL!! Here are some pics from the show that my daughter took with her cell phone. (The indoor pics look really orange inside)

Here are a couple more, and some outside, after the show.

Re: New life for an old 2wd, farm Blazer
And a couple more.
Joel picked this up and drove it a little this summer. He took it to the "Wheel Jam" in Huron S.D. for a show, where he picked up a first place. He than brought it out for "Kool Deadwood Nights" where he won a nice 1st place trophy in the truck class, as well as putting 300 miles on the blazer, during the event. Now he just has to get over his fear of driving it, and having something happen to his baby!

Re: New life for an old 2wd, farm Blazer
After Deadwood, Joel left the blazer with me to fix a small trans leak, from the shifter shaft. He told me I should take my family for a ride. He didn't have to tell me twice! Here are some pics of our trip through Spearfish Canyon, on a beautifull 65-70 degree day.

Re: New life for an old 2wd, farm Blazer
Here are a couple more. Joel has been too busy farming to come and pick the blazer up. They say that possession is 9/10's the law. I don't think he's getting it back! At least not untill I can drive mine anyway!
