Re: '67 Stepper "Laymond"
This is the reason for no work on the truck. I decided to put a 2" lift, 28" tires, new wheels, stereo, light bar and some other odds and ends to make the Teryx a little more fun on the trails.

Re: '67 Stepper "Laymond"
Thanks. I'm afraid the truck has been just sitting in the garage collecting dust. It's been a rainy summer and the boat hasn't sold. If it ever does I'll be ordering my brakes and air management.
Right now I'm leaning towards the Ridetech with the leveling sensors since I know a few of the guys there and they are right down the road from me. However I really really like the Accuair e-Level. I'm currently working on the Tahoe a bit as its time for some new suspension components. Installed Billstein 5100s and z71 springs. The rear now sits 3" higher than the front and the tires looks a little small. Keys, bigger tires and possible rear spacers may be in the near future. Once I get done with the Tahoe the attention gets turned back to the truck.

Re: '67 Stepper "Laymond"
Lol...nope
I did do a walk around the truck when I got home this evening. Well I got lucky and while I was in Dallas for a convention I had Saturday to do some sight seeing. While having lunch at Gas Monkey Bar and Grill I was getting caught up on Instagram when I ran across a pic from C10s in the Park. A quick Google search yielded it was 45 minutes down the road, glad I drove to TX. When I got there I went into complete sensory overload. To my eyes were around 400 C10s with many I've drooled over on this board and IG. I never would've dreamed I'd get to ever got to see most of these trucks in person. Then as luck would have it I recognized one of the cleanest C10s on this board. Asked the guy standing behind it and low and behold it was Mcbassin. While I was having a good conversation with him he introduces my to a few more members of the board. I had a great time talking to everyone and looking at trucks. It was great motivation to get me back on the truck. In fact I spent about 8 of my 12 hours of driving listening to C10Talk podcasts. Now I'm also ready to move to Texas.

Sounds like a good time Ryan, I followed mcbassin's coverage on IG, wish I could have been there.

Re: '67 Stepper "Laymond"
No news on the truck other than its sitting untouched. However hunting and riding season is about to take a major slowdown and its almost Sundays out in the garage time. In fact I got on here tonight to check out all the Black Friday sales as I'm ready to pull the trigger on my brakes.
I'm spending the weekend at home so hopefully I'll get a few hours to work on the truck after cleaning gutters, mulching leaves, burning wood, putting up Christmas lights and cleaning the garage. Oh and I really need to put a coat of wax on our DDs. So maybe the truck will see some progress next weekend.

Re: '67 Stepper "Laymond"
Just did a review of my build since I've now owned the truck for 3 years now and its kind of depressing. I really like to change my mind and take my time.
Good news is we are putting the finishing touches on a major project that's been occupying most of my time. At work we bought a building back in May for our new home. We ended gutting it and turning it into our dream place. It is a office, warehouse, and showroom/design center for my business. We could not be happier with the way its turning out. Should be moving in next week so that'll be a load off! I was able to get out in the garage yesterday and spend some quality time with the truck. Did a few odds and ends along with installing the front shock mounts. If all goes well I've got a buddy coming over Friday to help pull the cab. For those that care here's a few pics of my latest project. Sorry I'm a bit proud of this place as its been 12 years in the making (and you thought my truck build is taking long). I promise the next round of pics will be of the truck! Our Bar/Meeting Area View from my office Warehouse

Re: '67 Stepper "Laymond"
Well I promised the next pic would be a truck pic and here it is. I had a buddy over this morning and we pulled the cab. I still need to build a cart for the cab but right now I'm happy to be able to work on the chassis.

Re: '67 Stepper "Laymond"
Out in the garage today for a little football and tinkering. Todd stopped by to help clean out my garage and trailer by picking up a lot of my old parts. Still got a trip to the scrapyard but it's nice to have cleared out some space.
Also cleaned up the frame a bit and removed 22 rivets for the trans and trailing arm cross members. I almost forgot how much fun that is. It makes me rethink the idea of removing all frame pieces before powder coating. Looks like I would have 24 more if I do. However none are on the bottom of the frame which seems to be the worse ones.

Re: '67 Stepper "Laymond"
Always good to see more progress. Good to see you got the rest of the rivets out for the trailing arm cross member. I actually got everything unloaded out of my truck and trailer when I got home. Sorry it took so long to get down there.

Thanks guys! No progress today. Decided two days this weekend was good and had other priorities. It does feel good getting back at it again.
