Strodder, the way I understand it the binary or High pressure switch does just what you said it also shuts off the compressor when the pressure get to low. the trinary switch adds the capabality of also turning on a fan automaticly when the compressor is running.. clear as mud... Once I get the fan wired up I will remove the front sheet metal so I can get to the engine easier. Then wire it and button up some loose ends then fire it.

truck looks good! i say paint the grille to match the top of the cab and go with the chrome bumpers! i normally dont like chrome, every since i got a piece of metal in my eye, the shine really makes me close that eye! thats why i'm going with painted on mine

Thanks guys, it looks like the plan...........at least for today.

Went and rumaged thru the parts store for a lower radiator hose. I took a coat hanger i bent to the shape and length that I needed. It should work. It's a Dayco.

I'm going to trailer the 57 Sedan Delivery to NAPA and get all the hoses, and belts I need with one trip. I'll bring some wrenches with me too.

NAPA lets me roam around looking for stuff I need. If I say I need hoses for a 57 Chevy with a 396 they say, "HUH"?

That would be nice.................if I had a trailer.

Need some electrical guidance again.

On the schematic for the Vintage air controller it has the red (hot) wire with a CB going to the battery or starter solenoid. On the AW (American Wire) schematic I have an orange wire ran over to the AC on terminal #9 on the fuse panel. I have a bunch of red wire from the Vintage air I need to eliminate. My question is which is the best way to do this? Below is some of my thoughts.







Options:
1. Run red wire to T #9 on fuse panel depending on fuse rating on the panel.
2. Pull the orange wire out and just run the red wire to the 175 amp maxi fuse mounted inside the cab.

Any other thoughts?

What a pain it was to get the panel in.



Installed some wire loom on the headlight harness.

Strodder, you should go and tell them you have a 57 pickup with a 396. Ha Ha I get the crazyies looks.. Like a dead stare and off to help another customer.

Allen , think I use the same hose for my lower rad connection.. great mines think alike.

I had the same problem when I was installing my Vintage air controler... the modulas on the back hung out farther then the opening that the face plate would cover.. Had to disasimble the control modula then reassimble it from behind the dash board. What a pain..

The kids at parts stores these days boggle me.
I go in and typical conversation is like...
Me:"I need a thermostat for a 72 chevy 250"
Them: "Is that a inline 6?"
Me: "Yes it is."
Them: "What is it in?"
Me: "What difference can that possibly make? Its a thermostat for crying out loud... but if you must know, it is in a 66 Tempest Custom Convirtable"
Them: "I cannot find it in my system, we must not have it"
Me, after an eye roll and heavy sigh..."Just plug into the computer that it is a 72 C10 and get me the thermostat please"
Them: "Oh, we do have it in stock, just a moment please"

It has gotten so bad that if the kid behind the counter looks less than 16 years old, I will sometimes wait until the manager takes up a register or asks if I need help....

Some days I think I am going to be an awesome Grumpy Old Man.
It is SUNDAY so it is out to the garage for me and work on my truck.

Even the older parts guys are the same way. The better ones at least work on there cars. Auto Zone is the worse. I won't even go in there.
