Re: What did you do to your truck today?

Started sanding on the body, I guess this means I'll have to paint it for real now. I havent painted any thing since the early 80's and all I have is a showtime hvlp ,going to be interesting if anything.

I finally got around to putting on the front swaybar. If I would have known that it would make that much of a difference I would have put it at the top of the list.

Re: What did you do to your truck today?

Finally got my gas tank in the rear of my 64 short stepside. Ran out of daylight before I could finish plumbing and hear her run again. But I'm off until Tuesday ! Old Flo will be running before the weekend is done !!

Re: What did you do to your truck today?

Alan - nice bed.

I stripped wires and soldered & crimped connections on my '65 c10... 4 or 5 patches or replacements altogether.

I only burned myself twice with the soldering iron!

hah. nothing serious just a 'OW-THATS-HOT!' moment toward then end when I was tired and ready to be done with it.

Wired it up, put old head light switch back in... cleaned up, took a nap, went to the cruise in a way over in Dallas, GA in the truck... took those photos, ate some bbq and then walked around some more.

Then I eased on back to the house.

Re: What did you do to your truck today?

Well I took ol'blue out for a drive, drove about 30 miles .. Confirmed that the radiator and fan work properly .. I actually looked at a 62 chevy c10 , if anyone is looking for such a project this one has all the lower cab work done... it does need a roof.. but the worst is done... Yeah I know , like I need another project ,as if 2 trucks (3 cars ) etc isnt enough..anyways the engine I put in the truck runs OK,but it does need a bit more oil pressure.. I will worry about that when I get the other truck running and this one goes under the knife...

Re: What did you do to your truck today?

It has been on there for the years I have owned the truck, and at least the 2 years my buddy owned it, and it was still somewhat soft in the middle!

Here is a shot of starting to pull it out of the Passengers side.

I ended up resorting to drilling holes in it, then breaking it out, and repeating over and over!!

Went to the paint shop and looked at the progress. Came home and ordered a few shiney goodies. Bumpers, grille, mirror... etc.

Re: What did you do to your truck today?

Finally got it running and took it for a test drive. It crapped out 4 miles into the drive. I troubleshot it and ended up changing the coil on the side of the road. I then drove it home, parked it and now I'm shopping for an HEI.
