Re: 67 cheby's Dropmember build thread
i've seen a couple of beadrollers they motorized themselves , the eaziest way i can think about in therms of a one stop partsource is using a 24 volt electric motor and motronic out of an immobilitycart
(i know this one is chaindriven and has forward and reverse on one handle) or a big kids toycar driving a cycle-chain and sprockets you could use the handle of the cart and beef it up to a two way footpedal and have forwarth and reverse (depending on wat cart you happen to find )or buy am old pedal from a tig welder or a volume pedal for a guitar to regulate the motronic (you only need a liniar potmeter for control of a motronic on a inmobillitycart ), doing it that way you can drive it at any speed the electric motor is powerfull enough to move a person up the hill at a little over walking speed and can be driven of two batteries if needed i wouldnt be suprized if a windowmotor out of a car would be strong enough too if a lot slower but you wouldnt have the speedcontroll

Re: 67 cheby's Dropmember build thread
I used a winch from Harbor Freight and sprockets and chain from McMaster-Carr. I bought the 110v winch so there no need for a battery, just plug into the wall. I work in a machine shop so I remade the cable drum for the sprocket. It works great. I now can do my panels by myself and do not have to worry of having someone cranking to fast or far or even getting someone to crank it at all.

Re: 67 cheby's Dropmember build thread
the winch or any electric motor would work but you cant controll the speed its either on or off it would help to be able to slow down in tight corners and when you need to follow another bead
i wonder if an old chevy cam drive/chaindrive is big enough for the job then you can even use the camdrive cover

Re: 67 cheby's Dropmember build thread
I'm loving the firewall filler plate. I did the full replacement on mine and got a nice bow in it from the welding. I tried to shrink it out. Got it better but it is still not close to flat. you shouldn't have to much warpage on yours with the bead rolled. Are you using Vintage air kit ? I cut my pass through for the heater hoses and a/c lines. I'm not real happy with how it came out. I'm just curious how you are going to route your lines?

Re: 67 cheby's Dropmember build thread
Thanks guys I am extremely excited about all of my current progress, it seems like for a change everything is actually going right !! Yes I am running vintage air and my hoses will come out far on the passenger side so I can hide them over the inner fender

Re: 67 cheby's Dropmember build thread
Does vintage air provide enough hose to do this??? I am very curious to see how this will work!

Re: 67 cheby's Dropmember build thread
Looks nice. Will you have to trim the inner panel for suspension clearance?
