Re: What did you do to your truck today!
Are the spintechs louder than Flowmaster super 44's, maybe less chambers or something to be so loud.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!
After more than five years of having my project on standby(got married and a bb) i started my truck and it fired on the first try.(fresh gas) But it would not move, check the trans fluid and it was full of water. You can see my avatar pic that was like 6 years ago we got hit by a hurricane. Will I have to replace the trans of just the fluid and filter?

Re: What did you do to your truck today!
I have spintechs on my 2004 z71. I was told that some guys from flowmaster went and made their own muffler, not 100% on that. I would compare them pretty close to 2 chamber flowmasters or the 40 series....They sound pretty good and the noise level is about the same.

I'd check the engine and rear gear fluids, too.

Also, let's clarify something here...I'm not opposed to the sound of my truck, it's just the raw decibel level is fairly high. Everyone that sees/hears my truck just loves it. But, as an example, I live about 30 miles from work and I generally don't even listen to the radio due to the exhaust from the truck. A couple of things I noticed is your exhaust appears to be a little smaller, but it also exits at the rear tire. My exhaust turns down right in front of the rearend and I think it keeps a lot of the sound under the truck! Wonder where I can borrow a camcorder???

Replaced my broken under-dash brake pedal return spring. Was a bear to get to.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!
Tried to get my camera's video capability to pick up the sound of the truck. Apparently there was some serious tonal distortion and the sound was not good at all. Tested my phone to see if it would work and it was marginally better. So, let's see if I can embed the little clip I made yesterday.
Here's the sound from the headers, 3-inch pipe, and SpinTechs... After hearing the recorded sound of my truck, it helped put the AustinScott videos in better perspective. My truck does have a good tone, maybe it's just my ears!! lol

Spintech 3" exh sounds good dhaymaker, but with exhaust it really comes down to the cam and you def have enough, sounds really nice, better in person I bet.

Finished replacing the 200 4R with a TH350 in my Burb. Road tested it and it seems to work well.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!
Got my engine mocked up to make sure all the parts will fit... looks like i will have to do a little trimming to allow clearance for the bolts.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!
I installed some arm rests from a 55-66 chevy truck and new sunvisors that I ordered from Classic chevy parts. I also cleaned up a A/C control panel I bought at a swap meet a couple weeks ago. Also test fit a new bench seat and new foam, taking it to an upholstry shop next week.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!
Took out radiator, fan housing, headlights, and then after a lot of screaming stopped because of the stubborn bumper...I know it can be removed, just not today

NICE Truck!! The exhaust on my truck when I first put it together exited under the truck (turn-downs before rear axle) it was to loud in cab, so I had the current setup fabbed up that exits out the side. The sound in cab was cut in half. I bet if you just had the end sections re-done to exit out the back or rear you would be much happier with the exhaust note. -=Scott=- |

Spintech's = Sportsman-3000 2.5" in/out These videos where taken only a few days after getting the exhaust put in. They have had some time to "mature" (fill with carbon) any they are a tad bit quieter now after a year or so of running with an overly fueled engine. -=Scott=- |
