Re: What did you do to your truck today!

pulled the diff cover off. found out I have a 14 bolt out of some later year. Need to check ratio tomorrow.
Also discovered my carrier bearing is completely shot abd the drive shaft looks to far out on the spline. Good thing is the carrier is probably my weird wobble when just taking off.
Also discovered I have a TH400 not TH350 so I had to update my sig.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

Got the seat back from the upholstery shop and in it went. Should have been a straight swap but the seat I got from what was supposed to be a '72 was the same dimensions for the cover but had totally different rails and bolting pattern. And of course the new holes I had to drill hit just about half a hole in the support member. A little grinding and a little dremel tool and in it went.

Also put 3 point seat belts in

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

I decided to put the seats in my truck to see what they will look like. They came out of a 2006 suburban. I found them at a junk yard last week. Iam most happy

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

Really like those seats a lot, do they fit good for lenghth and also with the t.case shifter. Jealous, would be nice in my 71 4x4. Someday I may score as good as you did.

I have not bolted them down yet, but I did sit in it and it seems like it is going to work just fine. I paid $100.00 for them. I am not sure Iam going to keep the center console. i am thinking of building one that will give me some storage space and a couple of speakers.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

Bought some temp seats for the truck for $50 from a friend Honda Prelude. They'll work till I can find the seats I really want

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

Threw a 10ft aluminum brake in the back to deliver to my cousin. Gonna suck the gas down like a whiskey sour on a hot day, but it will give me the same smile driving it.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

This is actually a what I did in the last 4 days post LOL! Monday evening I pulled the driveshaft and the 3 speed tranny to replace the clutch. Replaced it Tuesday night with the 12 inch clutch and heavy duty pressure plate that came with my 70 burb parts truck. Then I decided I'd put the 4 speed out of the burb in my truck. So Wednesday night I did this!

Today after my bus route I pulled this from the burb frame, sure wish I'd got the 402 that used to sit in front of it!

Then I slid it under the truck after checking it out, I rigged this up to lift it up into place, yea looks a little redneck, but it worked great and sure alot less lifting for me!

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

Was finally finishing up my brakes and spotted a crack on my passenger trailing arm. Pulled it off this morning with intentions of welding it up, but after seeing what I was actually working with... I replaced it!!! The second picture shows what was still keeping this together... SCARY!!! The "new" one is in and the Pumpkin is now drivin' and stopping

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

My wife informed me I forgot to mention that I had her operating the comealong in the final positioning, LOL! So thanks honey! I also didn't get a pic of the nylon strap I had hooked to the cross member and around the back of the tranny to hold it in place while I wiggled it into the splines and pilot bushing.

Thanks for the comments!
