OUCH! Sorry to hear that.

I replaced my fuel tank sending unit. Removed the old tore up visors and replaced them with some new, albeit cheap ones, that came in a box with the truck. Also sandblasted the rear license plate lamp bracket to get it ready for paint.

Re: What did you do to your truck today?

Flat towed my truck up to my garage from my friends farm so i can start getting busy! I purchased a few cab braces and thats on list as well as trying to get the old girl running. I also confirmed today the engine is a power pack 283 from a 57 chevy...a nice surprise which will makes my little hot rod truck! She coughed and farted a bit after I cleaned the points but I ran out of battery power so hopefully this week I can bet it running and put a plan together. Winter is near so I have get a move on!

Re: What did you do to your truck today?

I got a good start on removing stuff from my cab. Getting ready to lift it off the frame. I still have to remove the windshield, rear glass, and steering column still.

Re: What did you do to your truck today?

Back around 1970 I picked up an original Yankee peep mirror in a wrecking yard. I subsequently used this exact mirror on my 1949 Plymouth, 1954 Chevy, 1946 Ford, and even on our 1960 GMC when first acquired. I always loved the looks of the mirror and the vision provided with the mirror so close to my head. Eventually it was replaced with stock door mirrors since the factory nutserts were already in the driver’s door.

Having used it for years, nostalgia got the better of me and I temporarily mounted it to see if I could go back, the intention being to get rid of both door mirrors if it worked well. So far I’m not impressed with the vision. I only drove it at night, but I couldn’t see anything but reflections in the window glass. I’ll try again tomorrow and see if getting use to it again makes any improvement.

I got my door glass all in on both doors, just in time because my seat just came back from the upholstery shop

Finished off putting in my air ride system, took me 3 days not too bad considering I,ve never put them on before. Doesn't drop it all that much but does it ride a whole lot better

Re: What did you do to your truck today?

I finished stripping everything off of my cab. Got all the glass out without damage. Ready to deCABitate it from the frame as soon as I can round up son and his friends. Ah, nothing like young muscle to help the old man out. I'm sure it will cost me some beers but it's beer well drank.

A buddy asked me to help him work on his truck one time. He said "I need a man with a strong back and a weak mind". I said "I'm your guy!!" Haha.

Re: What did you do to your truck today?

Spent a better part of the day lining up the front sheetmetal, trying to get all gaps close as possible and body lines somewhat strait, end result, doors and hood shut better and body looks straiter without ever touching bondo or sandpaper!

Re: What did you do to your truck today?

Finished the teardown of the 250 and got it ready for the machine shop. But mostly I got an old boat trailer out of the woods to use as a Carrier for the cab and bed when I take them off for restoration.

I put a throttle return spring on to keep the revs in check, then I test fit my chrome GMC grille
