Interesting application. Not really such a corrossive atmosphere that you'd need to protect the threads, but it looks cool.
Eastwood once sold a jig that would clamp the hex head of a fastener, allowing the user to drill a safety-wire passage thru a pilot hole. In my misspent youth I was a Harrier Handler and had to safety-wire all the nuts and bolts that held a component down after I replaced it. But not a necessary step on a machine that stays on the ground.

The seat back however has 8 pleats per panel at 2.125 the other two outer ones are 1.862

Also the center panel in the seat back is 8 3/8 inches while the seat bottom is 8 1/2 inches. So the run lost just about an inch when you get to the drivers side . I’m just going to have to live with it since even my upholstery guy said he can’t match the color . PUI doesn’t even offer it anymore
Wow, hopefully that's not an SMS, where I've had one on order 8 months

Installed my 3rd radiator. First two from different manufacturers are junk. So I "settled" for a US Radiator. It's built very well and everything fits like it's supposed to. Pending time there's absolutely no substitute for those desiring an original replacement, IMO. Downside it costs $1100 shipped.

"Let there there be LIGHT!"

LED's added to the a/c-heater controls. I found a two pack on Amazon - iBrightstar 12-24V Super Bright BA9 BA9S 53 57 1895 64111 LED Bulbs for $10. These are probably as big in size that will fit in the back of the controls, and probably a bit brighter than needed. Like a lot of LEDs, these really do not dim. Perhaps there's something one can add between the main dimmer switch and the bulbs to help in dimming, but I haven't found it and not certain these bulbs would even dim. I'm rather pleased though compared to the low watt, low lumens incandescents.

Re: What did you do to your truck today. The 3rd chapter

Got the carpet for the 68 today . Seat is done so I just need to install the carpet and few trim pieces and the interior is done .Need to get the hood back on and the body will be done too

How can rock auto sell the mass backed loop carpet with shipping for $225. On the ACC site it’s close to 400 . My guess is ACC doesn’t want to sell direct

Swapped out the seat in my 67. Installed new carpet and converted from a B&M shifter to a lokar setup. Still need to hook up the indicator for my Dakota digital. Major improvement in the comfort department.

Re: What did you do to your truck today. The 3rd chapter

Almost started it. My wife wanted a ceramic pot from CostCo, so we went up and found what she wanted. If you wait until the weekend, they're usually gone. I knew that I wasn't going to be able to pick it up, and my wife asked one of the workers- a woman. She picked it up (struggling) and put it in our cart. I got a shopping cart handler to load it into the wife's car. I used to be able to deadlift 325 pounds, and have x-rays to prove it. One of my sons will get it out of the wife's car tomorrow on his day off. It was easier getting that pot into the back of her car, so no truck starting.

I took my '71 Jimmy's broken front Prop Shaft into a driveshaft shop today.
It was pronounced DOA.
There's a whole thread on it on Engine & Driveline.

Re: What did you do to your truck today. The 3rd chapter

A couple of small fixes on mine. The upper swivels on my 3-point seat belts rattled, especially the passenger belt when driving solo, so the shouldered bolts got a wrap of electrical tape. They still swivel, but no noise now. My rear bump stops were still full length, causing some issues over larger bumps, so those were cut down. While on the lift my brother gave them a squeeze of silicone to keep them from rattling in the brackets. I tightened up the long eyebolt connecting the stake side boards and found then board ends were rubbing the cab, so I trimmed those up. Finally, I swapped the stock steering wheel with a 15" Comfort Grip. With power steering and a 3-1/4 turn steering gearbox, the 17" stock wheel was too sensitive on the interstate. Looking forward to clear weather to try out the new steering wheel with a few less rattles and squeaks.

Edit: Also added a Thermo-Tec 14150 Starter Heat Shield to the starter as I was getting some heat soak from the header. I just took it for a drive and love the 15" steering wheel. It seems a bit quieter now. I also got it up to temp, restarted with no more dragging starter.

Not SMS they are PUI . I've called them 4 times not a problem getting a service person but never get any type of follow up . I'm not even asking them to replace the seat I just want enough material to make new pleat inserts. I told them I'd even pay for the material. Problem is the seat is Dark Fawn and I assume they are having a hard time getting it .

My '68 Stepside has a Fawn interior trim, over the base 516 Orange. I'm tired of the asian rubber floor mats that crack in under 5 years. The OEM mat lasted about 30 years, but the truck's over 50 now.

Those carpets look great. I really like the color. I bet that color would look great in my Burb. It came with rubber mats only, no carpets front or rear.

Slowly replacing the sheetmetal that Mr. Rust had removed from my cab. Finally seeing some progress. One cab corner roughed in. Not bad considering it had actual 2x4s for rockers and spray foam corners. How do I rotate the pics?
