Re: How about some pics of 73-91 crew cabs

Here is my stocker dually with 235/85/16's. I opted for the skinny because of all the snow travel. Wide tires look cooler but if you want to cut the snow and ice the skinnies can't be beat. I see an Alaska post so that may be a thought. Suspension is fully stock here is how it sits.

Re: How about some pics of 73-91 crew cabs

No problem
I don't think it has any lift.
The front springs, I believe, have 4 leafs.
I dunno if the 1 tons with the 6.2 have heavier spring or not.
I'll get a pic of my front springs tomorrow in the daylight.
I'll also measure from the center of the hub to the fender lip.

Hey joe231, do those tires rub at all? and what kinda gas mileage are you getting on yours, its a 6.2l diesel right? was there a difference in gas mileage switching to the 285s. I appreciate all the help.

No rubbing at all.
I put these wheels and tires on shortly after I got the truck.
It had 235/85/16's on it which are close to the same height as the 285/75/16's (the 285's are only an inch taller overall)
Yeah it's a 6.2 with 4L80E overdrive trans.
I haven't checked mileage (my trip odometer doesn't work), I'd guess upper teens-lower 20's.

I'll go take pics of my springs now...

Edit: pics

It does have 4 leafs.
My K20 Burb only has 2 leafs.
As you can see there is lots of room in the front fender.
The tire isn't totally straight in that picture...

Sorry I don't know.
Hilltop salvage out here used to have quite a few squares.
I haven't been out there since I moved back though. As soon as the snow melts I'm gonna go check it out.

Lol
I do what I can

One stabilizer is factory, one is an aftermarket add on.

Re: How about some pics of 73-91 crew cabs

The guy i bought it off of said it had the tow package, i dont know if that means it has heavier springs, but would make sense to me that it would have the more heavy duty suspension system. thanks for all the good pics.

Dang, that thing is HUGE Would like to see some pics of your suspension set up, som close ups. Looks pretty good though, WAY to big for me though. Some Boggers on there would be sweet!

I know you listed what all was done to the suspension but... are those 1-2" blocks in the front? If so please remove them before they do it on their own at road speed. I love the look of the truck just needs some bigger tires under it.

edit saw your updated pic
