Got the fenders back from the painter yesterday, looking sharp. If you look at the back side of the fender you can see all the small nick where I figure somewhere along its life must have been in a fender bender.

Almost finished up the rear main seal replace I started yesterday. Need to torque pan bolts, put filter and oil in and fire it up.

Re: What did you do to your truck today?

Installed new distributor, coil, rotor, cap, wires, plugs, set timing, repaired my fuel line, GOT MY NEW 63 started for the first time!!!!!! Unfortunately I still can't figure out the fuel issue, the carb is still dry. All I can think of is replacing the fuel pump. But what a relief to hear the engine start. The truck didn't run when I bought it so I am pretty happy not to have to replace an engine.

Hey, Mark:
Today I went outside and pulled the cruise parts out and guess what - They won't even fit between the motor and firewall... Oh well, chucked it out... It was the factory vacuum operated thing from the suburban that I pillaged the engine, tranny, and rear end from.

Re: What did you do to your truck today?

tightened up all my bed bolts, welded a filler for the gas fill place, worked on my interior, and checked everything after doing the rear axle flip and installing a c-notch.

Everything is looking great! Getting ready to make this my DD for awhile.....

Re: What did you do to your truck today?

Today, CB radio install, made a bracket that sits on the floor for the CB, holds CB/mic. Later, welding the cross bard for my rear facing trailer hitch receiver box onto frame, and mounting the box, moving the license plate, adding a slider hitch receiver holder and chain loops.

That looks great! Did your truck always have the chrome grille or is that a new addition?
