Thanks, it is in nice shape. The cab and bed are almost spotless, the front fenders and hood need a little love!

I hear ya. My girlfriend's dad has a '65 long fleetside that I'm gonna end up with down the road, but it definitely needs some TLC. It's got some rust, but I think she's worth it. It's a '65 long fleetside 1/2-ton 2WD with the factory 292 straight six. Original trans was a 3 on the tree but it went out and he put a buick 3-speed stick in it lol. It's not the greatest looking truck in the world, but it's one I plan on owning and fixing up.

She's definitely a keeper! I'll post more pics as I go. I've got a lot of plans for it and this forum keeps feeding my imagination.

Mine were in pretty bad shape so I cut away most of the panels, retaining the portion above the tires so I could keep the factory hood hinges and springs. My engine compartment doesn’t really get much dirtier than it did before, most of the dirt and splatter ending up directly behind the tires. A quick trip to the coin operated car wash cleans it right up.

In the spring I’ll try and remember to take a before picture showing how dirty it got over the winter before I hose it off. Post #129 on the following thread shows how much of the panels were removed:

Re: How about some pics of 60-66 Trucks

I did most of the work on this in the late 1980's. Those mirrors were popular then. I'm not excited about replacing them with OEM mirrors so I'm looking for suggestions. I want to go with a 60's custom style for the truck when I make updates next year. The truck has been garaged since 1991. I'll have the time and money to get it back on the road next year, God willing.

Does anyone reproduce stainless windshield trim for 60-63 trucks?

Any opinion on bumper guards for my truck?

The billet dash and steering wheel will be replaced. I'd love to get one of those 1960's Chrysler Imperial square-type steering wheels but they're expensive.
