Re: How about some pics of 73-91 crew cabs

hey v30crewcab, I NEED more information on those wheel spacers! I've got a cab & chassis dually pickup too, and I'm torn between running dual wheels with little weenie tires, and fitting some big tires under it. I am almost at the point of swapping the rear axle out of it.

Re: How about some pics of 73-91 crew cabs

I think they are 3.5" thick ones. I will try to get a measurement on them today. I am getting an 03 disk brake rear this coming week to run, so I'm not gonna use them anymore. I don't run the duals on it anymore and I want factory disk.

Re: How about some pics of 73-91 crew cabs

So, did all the crewcabs have the chrome trim above the doors, or did some come without it? I'm thinking of removing mine and welding up the holes when I repaint it here soon. whatcha think?

It looks good with the drip rails shaved but they are their for a reason. I removed them from my burb to see how it was. When it rained hard the water would poor straight down on me and soaked me when I opened the door. I have also heard if your seals are worn out it will leak when the doors are closed too. I would not advise anyone that is in a area that rains a lot to remove them.

I was afraid of that. maybe I will just remove the stainless trim part and paint them the same color as the truck.

Eric28miller, sweet build! Did you put an aftermarket cam in your engine or is it a stock one? Very nice work!

Re: How about some pics of 73-91 crew cabs

Hey 72longhornTX, are you going to swap your 454? I just got the truck yesterday, filled the tank, went to work and I'm half empty. Damn, didn't think they were that thirsty. I need to do the swap asap as this is going to be my daily driver.

Re: How about some pics of 73-91 crew cabs

If it were lowered and tucked the rear tires a bit, I think it would be sweet. I like it....different. I have the same C+C rear 14 in mine as well. With some slight adjustments on the rear fenders they would tuck no problem. Want to see pictures as it comes along....

I kinda posted my car pics up to show I have enough crap that's lowered. I look forward to something I don't have to lay down to get in. The truck is meant to be my car hauler and is a budget build. I like the fact that not everybody dose the step side, Its beefy and sexy at the same time , like me. Right Jeff!

Re: How about some pics of 73-91 crew cabs

I just ordered the crossmember for a 89-93 12v swap. What transmission should I be looking to install? It's going to be my daily driver and used to tow my boat, not much more than that.

I want an automatic. My mechanic wants to make this swap as simple as possible, he doesn't want to get into critical wiring, this being his first diesel swap. I'm overhelmed with all the info on these swap sights.

47rh from a 1994 or 1995 dodge cummins is the way to go then. If you or your mechanic need info or help let me know and I'll help you out.
