I hope to see that. At this show were a number of creations. This small power unit someone put the horse head on and the exhaust comes out of the nostrils. With those red pupils and the smoke it had a demon vibe about it. I didn't hang around long enough to find out

Re: Random Photos ‘You took’

I picked up the little mirror at an estate sale last year. The sale had a garage with a South Bend lathe and some tooling that had already sold but this little mirror was on the shelf above the lathe. I thought that would be handy for my lathe.

Fast forward to last Sunday when I needed a mirror and I grabbed it. Afterwards I actually looked at it and realized it is quite old. Now I'm not sure I want to put it back in the tool box.

Re: Random Photos ‘You took’

That's what clued me it that it must be pre WWII and likely after about 1920. Originally I assumed it was probably 60's or maybe 50's vintage.

Cool old mirror. Until fax and cell phones, in my mom's area you didn't need to use an area code or the exchange. But I'm all phone numbers would be listed with seven digits. My first work trucks didn't have the area code lettered on because the whole state still only had one area code. My how things have changed

That door lettering is cool. We raced cars at the local circle track when I was growing up and I used to love it at the beginning of the season when the painter would show up and letter the freshly painted race cars right at the track. Multi colors with shadowing and the requisite "sparkle" here and there all hand brushed.

50 years ago we only had to dial 4 digits to make an in town call 5 digits to to the next town over . Now we have to dial 10 digits to call across the street.

upside...
here's one warranty i don't have to worry about anymore...
did this church roof last yr.

downside...
my son was rotating the tires on my stepper when this happened. as it is less than a block from my house, we went and watched the fire for a couple hrs.
when we got back home my son put away the jacks....unfortunately he forgot to tighten some lug nuts...worst part was walking 7 miles home with two hyper active dawgs...$120 for a tow and $40 for some new studs and luggies

Re: Random Photos ‘You took’

Noticing the deer pictures the other day, it made me remember a few years ago as I took an alternate route home from work, I topped a hill and there was a 6 point Piebald buck standing in the road. I remembering wishing I had a camera and as he was running away, it occurred to me that my cell phone was a camera. I got this as he vamoosed. Just enough for bragging rights and proof that he existed. He was killed two years later in 2019 as a nice 10 point.

Re: Random Photos ‘You took’

I was out running errands today to find some elusive 3/16” vacuum line.
No one carries it any more.
NAPA no go and all the auto box stores only offered fuel line.
I finally found some at a local Carburetor specialty shop.
Beautiful day in the PNW today and saw this.

Re: Random Photos ‘You took’

Tonight my wife heard a noise out front that didn't sound like the cat eating out of the bowl on the porch. We look out to see a 5 point buck walking away. He was in no hurry at all as I got 3 pictures of him slowly leaving the seen of the crime.
