Hope these helped some what and once you get this side drilled, bolt the sway bar on and you can line up the other side and mark holes as well as the frame. T.J.

Re: 1963 C-10 in NC
Thanks for the pics TJ. Been out with a cold the last two days. Ill go out and pull some numbers once im better. Good news is the rain finally broke after near a week, so maybe I'll get 30 minutes tomorrow to get the master cylinder installed and the brakes bled.

Re: 1963 C-10 in NC
Nice! When I changed the master cylinder, wheel cylinders, and pads and srings out it made a heck of a difference! One thing for your info, If you convert to a dual bowl master cylinder( front controls front and rear controls rear) then if your brake line goes out you still have brakes.

Re: 1963 C-10 in NC
Finally got this cold to break...so back on the brakes tonight. MC installed, just have to bleed the lines.
Did get the belts back from the sewing shop....great thing about being close to Ft. Bragg is there are plenty of alteration shops that deal w/webbing due to all the military gear. Restored a set of OEM buckles that had bad webbing and had some new webbing installed. The new color webbing will match the paint that I will do the interior/exterior in, so they are for another day down the road.

Re: 1963 C-10 in NC
The OEM buckles are hard to find, and if you find them w/good webbing.....last set I saw was around $450!!
Find some nice salvageable buckles and you can purchase the proper webbing very affordable. I have probably around $80-$100 in mine, which included the rechrome, my paint, webbing and the sewing. They came out just like new...other than the blue webbing which was not a factory color. All the OEM buckles are color matched to the webbing.

Hey Dan, how have you been? Hows the truck project coming? I have some better pics of an unrestored belt 2-3 pages back made by the Irving Chute Co. I have seen a plain buckle w/ a chevy sticker also.....Ill see if I can find a pic in my archives.

Re: 1963 C-10 in NC
These are the other belts I have seen w/the stickers. I do not know the specific application...as in if one was dealer vs. factory installed. I just know that both are period correct for the 62-66 models and maybe a few other years.
On the version I have, they are not stickers in the centers. They look to be either cast and welded/glued or maybe part of the original stamping, but its a raised embossed logo.

Re: 1963 C-10 in NC
Some diagrams that I'll be using soon to replace the seals and weather strips...thought they might be of use to someone else also.
Also found that there were some changes in the 1960 exterior handles that I wasn't aware of.

Re: 1963 C-10 in NC
Slowly but surely. I haven't had the time to do the major projects that I want, but Im getting tons of parts restored and ready. Working on lots of little things and of course keeping up with the maintenance.

Re: 1963 C-10 in NC
Got a few minutes yesterday and swapped out the repop floor vent cables for some OEM deluxe cables and knobs. The repops are a nice quality, but the OEM cables complete the knob set to all originals. The only difference I can tell from the two is the OEM knobs look much cleaner and have sharper edges and have the "v" on them. I moved the driver side cable closer to the column, which surprisingly does make it easier to use. I think I like it better next to the column. I left the passenger side in the stock location. Ive been needing to adjust the vents some as I had a little air that would blow by the passenger side, and now Ive got the adjustment perfect. Anyways...heres some before and after pics

Re: 1963 C-10 in NC
My next rain day project will be refinishing a pair of vintage 60's BBC valve covers. 3 1/2" total height, so same as what I have now (so shouldn't be any clearance issues). Nice thing is these are aluminum, so they will polish nicely...as a lot of them were made of magnesium. The pair I have now are finned but only on top. These are vintage edelbrock covers w/the chevy logo and finned from one side to the next. Pics to come of the restoration...
The Edelbrock covers will replace the ones on the engine now once polished & painted.

Re: 1963 C-10 in NC
Ok, event filled weekend, but I got the trans fluid, rear diff fluid swapped, new oil /filter in the block. Got the OEM deluxe choke cable on and the repop pulled off. Got the throttle cable installed and working. And started to do some outside cleaning before it rained on me. Will get pics of the interior dash tomorrow.
Also go the tow bar assembly mocked up and painted, got some new grade 8 bolts for the install. Start working on the vintage Edelbrock valve covers tonight. Going to polish and paint them.

Re: 1963 C-10 in NC
Thanks. Seems all my projects take forever. Some of it is my OCD....everything has to be perfect right!! A lot of it is stuff that's completed and just sitting in boxes because I haven't had time to get around to it. Two jobs, teenager, 2 acres, building a barn...etc. But slowly and surely it'll all get done. Im still enjoying my 12-14 mpg, but I'm more than ready to put the big block in. Last one I had was in a 69 Chevelle SS I had back in 97-98. It had a TH400 behind it and it'd scoot down the road pretty good. Im interested to see how it's going to handle with a 3 speed manual.
And thanks on the seatbelts. I wasn't sure how they'd come out with the OEM buckles being a different color than the webbing, but they really look good. Much better in person than picture.

Re: 1963 C-10 in NC
It tachs out in all three gears...has a built up turbo 400. 6,000 rpm max. We changed it to a torque cam so it will tow anything we want up a hill at 70! Horse power i think is around 500. Torque 480-500. He and i love the power! He likes it enough to peel out from the gas station just to turn around and re-fill the fuel tanks!!!! HAHAHA!! Were thinking in the future going to a 572....it just keeps getting better! Your new valve overs rock! As well as the ones on there already!
