Re: tuba trucks

Nice coupe Clem! Best thing you can do is add Chevy power.

I just realised, my truck never had them fitted.

Are they standard or an aftermarket piece?

I do like the way Clems came out.

Checked a pic from when I got my truck.......

Re: tuba trucks

Yep Rian they are standard. Never noticed it on yours until you mentioned it. They will help with you cooling alsi by keeping the air pushing thru not over /around radiator, especially if you get or make some of the rubber pieces to keep the air flow right.

Mine are not nearly as nice as Clem's

it has been too long coming and we're going to make some big moves to get that car on the road... full roller Ls6 with Hilborn stacks.

looks like shotgun opened up if Gregs driving... wish you were coming too but we'll be doing it for a while yet so next year will be good too and that gives me a deadline for the coupe.

Thanks for all the positive comments fellas. We really appreciate it. Most of you guys know that there's 2 other guys that bring alot to the work done here. Pete and Dano are both big reasons the projects get done to a pretty high level. I admire you guys that are doing it yourselves. there's a lot to building one of these trucks and the variety of the builders out there, sure makes this community great.

Whoops, too much flapping the keys and not enough pics... back later.

Re: tuba trucks

We got to a point where pics were relevant on the Austin truck.
the bed got deep paint and a beautiful cut and buff by Dano. Next the tubs and inside bed panels got undercoat. Then it was on to the boards... used pine from Mar-K and decided to see if we would like a gloss black finish. Not having seen it before we primed and sanded then put 8 coats of gloss single stage enamel on them. Once again Dano cut and buffed till they looked like the top of a Steinway. We liked it.

Re: tuba trucks

OK. Your just out of control now! Keep up the good work. Does someone plan on driving that truck or are they going to put it in their living room and toss the Steinway? NOICE!

Re: tuba trucks

Top notch building all the way.
Screaming Trophy truck right there.

Edited a few hours later after original comment cause couldn't stop thinking how top notch these trucks are.
Bed with a mirror finish. Man that's cool.
I shudder every time I tackle a new project of my own.
Clem and his crew stomp these trucks out top quality repeatedly.
Quality of work at Tuba Trucks keeps me trying even harder to get it right the first time.
Hope that one day Steiner can sit in the shadows of one of Clems trucks.

~See you in October~

Re: tuba trucks

we're closing in on the completion of the 'Austin Blue'. Stuff like tailgate chain hoses, wipers, carpet, and exhaust plus some other little things but... she started up and sounds solid, shifts, stops and turns just fine. Heres some pics...

Re: tuba trucks

Here's a couple of more... Good to be ahead of the deadline of mid October but there's still lots of time in getting everything just right. The owner is flying in on a one-way ticket and expecting to drive her home... a little added pressure.

Re: tuba trucks

one of the fun things we did was to create a glove box SPID sheet that represents the options on this truck... sorry but we made up some of the numbers because they weren't available at the factory, oh well.
