I'm not worried about the baffles. I have two new 87 tanks, two new 87 senders with new high pressure pumps, new high press. switching valve, etc. My only concern was how to wire the pumps to switch on and off with the position of the switching valve and only use one fuel pump relay. I guess I just need to find someone parting out a 87 that had dual tanks and get the wiring. Well, off to post in the classifides.

The little man decided he wanted to work on "daddy's" truck so as any good father would say, heck yeah, so the engine and trans are now back in the chassis permanantly. The tanks are next with the wiring for the fuel system and then the cab goes back home for good!

what did you have to do on the tranny cross member? looks nice and clean!

It's a simple piece of 2x2 square tubing 1/4 wall thickness. Definately not going anywhere! Very simple and cost effective too!

Looks great! It looks like your boy has square body fever too. Hey, what kind of tires are you running? I need a new set for my TBSS and I like the tread pattern on those.

Jeramy, I am running 295/40r20 on the rear and 255/40r20 in the front. Jonboy, I am running 3.42 gears for now but I am thinking I would like to find a rear already set up with 3.73 gears instead.

I got the harness from Performance systems Integration (lt1swap.com) and it is awesome. Everything brand new, fuse and relay block installed, and the biggest part of the harness is about 1 1/2 inches thick and comes right off the back of the head so I can route it and mount the ECU wherever I choose. Camera is dead so no pics for now but great product!

Now, if someone hadnt decided to turn this into a frame off job I could probably hear it run tonight but o-well!

OK guys, harness is on! It took some time but I was able to route everything so even with the engine covers off all you can really see is the white connector for the coils. There is about 4 feet of harness off the back of the passenger side cylinder head so the ECU will definately go in the cab out of sight! The blaster called today to let me know my tank brackets are blasted and powder coated semi gloss black and ready to be picked up. I actually made a good connection with him and got them done for $60 total. He told me he would have done the chassis and control arms for $300. I wish I had of known this before I painted and reassembled the whole thing. O well. I have to remember this is just a decent driver...

Tanks should be installed this weekend and as soon as I get some fuel hose and trans cooler lines I may actually hear this thing run! Here are some pics.

I originally had wait4me do the harness but I was VERY unhappy with it and sold it. I used the guys at lt1conversion.com for the harness. It is absolutely perfect and I couldnt be happier with it. I need to get the coolant temp sensor adapter now but I hear the aftermarket ones from Autometer are kinda poor quality. I just dont feel so good about drilling into my cylinder head for the temp sensor. Getting close now!

I'm working on it. Hard to do though when you are trying to keep it fairly stock looking. That and Dennis' attention to detail is amazing.

My thoughts exactly. A decent driver. LMAO I am glad I don't live anywhere near you cuz I would have had my cab off the frame too!!! I just fixed a few cab imperfections last weekend now ready for floor paint. Looks good. I am gonna give lt1swap.com a call.
