Re: New member with a 1960

The truck is about ready to crank, its going on the lift tomorrow to start the exhaust, hopefully the driveshaft and coil overs will land in the next day or so, we might get lucky and get all of that installed in the next few days!
This is where I get overly anxious!

Re: New member with a 1960

She's on the lift, exhaust has began, still waiting on coil overs, the driveshaft has arrived....We had issues with the cleat on the wheels, they had to be redone, I actually like them better now, we used a different product this time, I really like it!

We are rolling right along.... Ride height is just about there, I think we may drop it about 1/2 inch all the way around!

I just now saw that... Thanks for mentioning it! The 5 lug you mentioned is a 1971 2wd GMC Jimmy.....there is more info on the Jimmy over in the Blazer/Jimmy build thread. We are starting on it once the Apache is complete, hopefully 2-3 weeks...well complete minus interior!
It will have a 6.0 LS/4L80E combo, mini Tub, Running Raceline 20x12 & 20x8.5 wheels and custom interior!

Re: New member with a 1960

So here is our current situation!!! The exhaust is being removed today to do the final welding, We are not sure if we want to run it at an angle behind the rear tires or exit out of the rear fenders behind the tires, I'm leaning towards coming out the fenders, just because it doesn't kick up as much dust! I darn sure hope it sounds good, this is the first attempt at running 4 mufflers!

I like how you split the torsion bar cross member with the exhaust above....I may rethink mine, my x pipe now has a skid plate...lol
You can gain a little more clearance if needed on the torsion key bolts...see my link

Great work as usual !!!

Thank Joe, We are currently scratching our heads on a few plans regarding the Keys, One of them is doing exactly as you guided me to do! It looks like you gained 1/2 - 3/4 clearance?
