Re: My 52 GMC Build

So much for taking a brake on the truck lol
Today I pulled the compressors, tanks, shocks and rear tires to finish painting the frame. WOW that axle is a stubby monster. Guess I need to clean the rest of the axle.

Re: My 52 GMC Build

Well over the weekend the fam and I went to visit the inlaws. I had about $2000 of parts delivered to a friend of there's in the US. They go down about 5 times a year with there 5th wheel and brought all my parts back. (Saved shipping to Canada and duty) So I got all my rubber seals from LMC, my custom headlights, cab heater, door vent windows, LED tail lights and all my intake piping for the intercooler. Let the fun begin.

Re: My 52 GMC Build

So today I painted and mounted my sway bar. Have to make some A arm mounts tomorrow to attach the sway bar. Also pulled the spindles off and got them modified for putting my Willwood brakes on. It says to cut the caliper ears off and drill and tap the 2 holes to move the caliper out for the bigger disks.

Re: My 52 GMC Build

Today I got the passenger side all put together. New 3/8" rubber air line did away with the push lock, sway bar mount and hooked up, new bolts for suspension, and Willwood brakes.

Very nice lowers....but a set of Alcoa 19.5" wheels would look so sweet on that truck.

Ya they would look sweet. I built the truck for a 26" tire so if I went with the 19.5" Alcoa wheels I would have about a 3" side wall. Maybe some day.

Re: My 52 GMC Build

I have to thank my friend Joe for helping me put my windows in last night. He has the tools and knowledge that made it a piece of chocolate cake. Rear window was in in less than half hour and the front a little longer.
My helpers last night cleaning the crud off windows.

This tool was for putting the lock bead in the rear seal.

Then we had to put the visor back on.

Re: My 52 GMC Build

Do you know what size the piston bore is on your Wilwood calipers. I am building my own front setup and was wondering what the kits came with, 1.38 or 1.75?

Thanks. Yes it is. I have to catch them in the right mood. They love the truck just don't understand the amount of time. I do most of my truck work when they are not around.

Good looking brake upgrade. Gotta love big shiny disc brakes. Also like the idea of putting the kids to work cleaning windows.

Re: My 52 GMC Build

I cant believe you dont have an engine driven compressor on that diesel. I know someone makes one! it will change your life, you know what the recovery time is for a lift? 12 SECONDS. 12. if you have a leak and your tank goes empty overnight, filling from slap empty is under 2 minutes.

I love how the inside tires are even with the bed wall, gave me a chuckle.

Yes some day it will, might have both. I made york style one for my Jeep years ago. Fills a 35" tire from 10psi to 35psi as fast as an auto shop.
