Yep! You hit the nail on the head. I've been in a bad funk lately. Between having my hours cut back at work due to the economy, yard work/honey-do list, and sinus issues lately I haven't struck a lick. Such is life I know blah, blah, blah...

On a positive note though, Alan and I talked last night about starting on my cab soon. Hopefully, by the weekend we can get the cab in his shop and get to work on it.

I'll be sure to post pictures if that happens.

Thanks for proding me along.

Shannon, thats awesome. Looking forward to the progress. I finally got the bonded title and most of the cab patches for my K10, I need to button up my son's '67 but hopefully can start on the k10 soon.

Re: Project - '69 4x4 named "Patches"

Well it happened, we got my cab back over to Alan's shop this weekend. The plan is to build a cab dolly out of wood to sit my cab on to make it easier and safer to work on, so I picked up some lumber today for that.

Stay tuned. Sparks should start flying pretty soon.

Here's a picture to prove that I actually did touch it this weekend.

Re: Project - '69 4x4 named "Patches"

It's amazing what you can get accomplished once you get off the couch.....

We finished up the cab dolly last night and mounted the cab to it with lag bolts. It turned out pretty nice and moves around with very little effort.

If all goes well I'll be cutting metal tonight. It's all down hill from here.

That'll be fine, just as long as you come with it. That way WE can all learn together.

I could shoot you a line of but I don't have one good excuse for no updates. I've actually been trying to help Alan troubleshoot his 4-runner and by "troubleshoot" I mean holding the flashlight.

Be patient updates will commence soon.

Re: Project - '69 4x4 named "Patches"

Shannon,

from looking at your cab, unless your going to shave the square where the wiring harness is, you need to find a Factory Fit Aftermarket harness. I believe American Auto Wire and Ron Francis carry factory fit harnessess.

I plan on filling in a few of the "extra" holes when the time comes and the wiring harness hole is one that will get filled. I'm going to use a kit from AAW when the time comes.

Here's a link to the Classic Update Kit from AAW (model #510089)

Greg,

It's sitting in the basement in the same spot where I unloaded it a few weeks ago. Thanks for asking.
