Re: Jesses' 48 PU
Well things didnt go as planned over the weekend. I decided to wait on sitting the cab on the frame until I paint the firewall and interior. So will prep the cab during the week and hopefully I cant get that done this coming weekend.
What did happen is that I asked my wife to help me "SWEEP" the garage. Well before I knew it, she had me pull everything out, all welding machines, roller, cab, tables etc.. Which was good because I found an engine with transmission in there taking up valuable space, took it to the warehouse for temp storage. My wife cleared my work bench, vacumed all metal shavings, dust.. and now I have plenty of room. Heck I found my Harley!! Poor baby it needs a wash... so in appreciation I treated my wife to a Dairy Queen ice cream cone.. Second thing that happened... a second grand baby was born!!

Re: Jesses' 48 PU
It is nice... kinda makes me not work on it as I know it wont last. So easy to lay tools down, hoses etc and before you know it.. its a danger zone once again...

Re: Jesses' 48 PU
1st and foremost, congrats on the grandbaby!
Then you have a great wife to do that much cleaning! It'll be easier to work now that it's clean.

Re: Jesses' 48 PU
Worked on the truck every evening this past week. Mocked up the steering column, welded a 1/4 " plate on the firewall as support for the brake pedal assy and the brake booster. Sanded the firewall, dash and upper back panel to try and get it ready for paint.
I found a gallon of Rust Dr i had laying around so decided to spary it on the back panel to see if it worked.

Re: Jesses' 48 PU
Thanks for the compliments and support fellas..
If Ive learned anything on this project is that research is key. I try to stay a few steps ahead to keep forward momentum. I have a ways to go but being that I live in Houston and it is freaking hot down here. AC is on my mind. I have looked for videos or pics of AC installations on 47-53 Chevy trucks but have come up blank. Does anyone have advice, pics or thread suggestions on AC kits? I know Vintage Air has several options and I can order one of their kits. But was looking for guidance and suggestions.
