Re: 67 C10 "Green Gobblin" straight from the field!
Once I finished that stuff up I decided to play with and fit up some of the Accuair parts. Got the tank, compressors and solenoids mounted.

Re: 67 C10 "Green Gobblin" straight from the field!
Before I put the cab back on I decided to put the rad and cradle in and get it up and running to break in the cam and do a quick tune. ( also i really wanted to hear the exhaust and cam!

Wheels on and its time to move it into position to get the cab on! You can see my helper is pretty excited to see it move!

Cab on and we ran into a problem! Not enough clearance on the trans tunnel so i had to cut up my new floor for the high hump!

Heres a few more random pics of the cab on and the front crossmember nice and close to the ground. I also started fitting up the fenders and realizing the 22" wheels are going to be a challenge up front!

Re: 67 C10 "Green Gobblin" straight from the field!
Ok so with the fenders on I can now see I will be ditching the heater core, hood hinges, and changing to a different brake booster. Without cutting out the inner fenders it sits pretty darn high! I had expected to change most of that but now i can see exactly why.

Yep, I just recently made the same discovery on the inner fender structure of Walter...& I only have 20’s. So, I ended up going with Mike’s ‘Slosh Tubz’ to keep from slinging debris all over.

That looks like a good size tire up front! I also really like your rim choice. If I wasn't going for the black steel wheel look id be going for a set of those!

Re: 67 C10 "Green Gobblin" straight from the field!
Well since I'm waiting on parts now I figured it's a good time to dig out a few things and get them done. Pulled out the old mirrors and got them fitted and installed, got the glove box and door panels painted and installed so thats another piece of the puzzle finished!

Re: 67 C10 "Green Gobblin" straight from the field!
I had a fairly productive weekend! Friday the switch suspension hood hinges came in so I managed to get those installed. The brake booster bracket from (Captain fab) came in along with my brake parts and my heater-core delete plate. So after two full days I've got a few pics to show.

Changing the brake booster and bracket cleaned it up and made a lot of room.

Very slick. I like the flatness in finish the rubber background gives you..

Nice job on the heater control panel! Can't wait to see the rest of the parts go in!

Re: 67 C10 "Green Gobblin" straight from the field!
Heres a few pics of the low profile tires I ordered up. I ordered these after getting the specs from a truck that I thought looked pretty sweet! Unfortunately once I got these tires in my hands I realized they were way to low profile for me and never survive on our local roads. :wash:
They look cool but just won't work but I mocked them up anyway just to see and get an idea of what i will need for clearance once i start on the wheel tubs. Oh and the size is 245/30/22 for those who might be deciding on wheel sizes. |

Re: 67 C10 "Green Gobblin" straight from the field!
Here are the tires mounted on the 22" transits. The first pic is a 265/40/22 (rear) vs the 245/30/22 (front). Then a few pics on the truck.

Re: 67 C10 "Green Gobblin" straight from the field!
So after seeing that I had to get them off and put the bigger rubber back on! I rough cut out the front fender so I could drop it a little more and temp put the caps on and it looks much better! Front tire is still to big but I've got the idea of what size to go now.
