Re: Plus Five

Do you have a fuel pressure gauge, that should tell you if your system is sealed.
Just cycle the key/power a few times you will know quickly is your fuel system is tight!

No, I don't have a fuel pressure gauge. Maybe someone I know has one.
I'll probably just crank it up outside. If I do have a leak it won't end up
on my floor.

I HATE the smell of gasoline!

Re: Plus Five

It's raining and cold outside so I did some more work on
the cover panels. I cut out the vent panels and used round
head rivets to rivet a piece of perforated aluminum to
the back side.

Very cool. I love the industrial look of the mesh.
Nicely done.

Re: Plus Five

Thanks everyone,

I'm planning on just painting it the satin color
of the dash.
I'm trying to keep some of that plain old
metal feel in the cab.

Re: Plus Five

I spent a good part of the day putting in some sound
proofing and insulation behind the seat enclosure.

I also finished up the two side panels. They will hold
the 6 x 9 speakers. Just need to cut the holes and install
the last rivnuts.

Re: Plus Five

I bent the aluminum over a 1 inch pipe by hand.
I used some thick paper for a pattern, then filed
them to fit.

Re: Plus Five

the gaps around the corners are pretty tight, just magic marker
on the tape that looks like too big of a gap.

I should finish this up tomorrow.

Re: Plus Five

I finished up the Radio speaker enclosure.

6 X 9 just fit with a foam baffle behind them.
Hope it sounds OK.

Next up, I think I'll put the tweeters in the headliner.

Re: Plus Five

I finished up the stereo install.

I had previously made a three piece aluminum headliner
and I put the tweeters in the side panels.

Re: Plus Five

I also bled the brakes and got the truck back on
it's wheels.

It may be a bit high sitting yet,
but I'll wait til I get the stainless steel box
floor and a tank of gas in it, before I adjust the
ride height.

Re: Plus Five

thanks to MIKESAD50 for showing his tool for
installing the door weather strip.

I made some similar tools from an old plastic cutting
board and installed mine.

I also installed the lower trim and stainless steel retainer
that I made earlier. I'll peel the paper off later.

I'm going to wait for good weather to start the engine.
We got snow today in western New York.

Re: Plus Five

I'm still waiting for warm weather to fire up the engine, we got about
10 inches of snow. In the mean time, I made the final pieces for the
inner fenders up front.

They are made from .060 aluminum and will be powder coated
with black wrinkle finish to match the air intake.
Hopefully they will stop most of the road debris from hitting
the fender and denting or chipping them. Also the powder coat
wrinkle finish should hold up to the abuse from leaning against it
or setting tools on them and won't show finger prints or dirt.

Re: Plus Five

Today I installed the headliner panels.

I put sound deadening and insulation on the roof skin
and on the back side of the headliner panel.

I also cut a small hole for the microphone for the
blue tooth up front just above the mirror.

The dome light is from a Subaru and is wired like new cars
to the door switch or manual on.

Re: Plus Five

That turned out great, what material did you use for the headliner?
