This is my '72 Suburban. It is basically stock, but I did do a few things to it. There is a link in my sig line to a long-winded thread about it.

Re: post your 67-72 4x4

Thanks! Thats my personal favorite color on these Blazers. It originally had a black top but I always liked the white top so I changed it. Sometimes I think about putting it back black, it looks a little tougher to me, but the white sure looks clean, what do you think?

Re: post your 67-72 4x4

just finished getting my suspension lift done...air bags on rear axles(jeggs)...air shocks(monroes) front and back...gave about 2 1/2" (front) 3 1/2" (rear) , room enough for some bigger rubber...

tried to find a spring place to do it for me...but too much $$

actually the ride now is excellent too...wished I had done it a while ago!

and yes that is original paint...with a little Mequires helping out...living in Colorado all its life might have something to do with it??...LOL...

just did a full undercoating too...and just painted all lines and mechanical parts to help handle the new environment here on the Ocean...

next project is to repair the body/cab mounts...dry rot has caused a small sag...

Thanks but it was my friend who did all the work bringing it back from the dead. I think its from PA and my friend restored it in his senior year of high school. It just sat while he was in college and I had some cash.

Re: post your 67-72 4x4

Here is mine. It's a Frankenstein but it's mine so I love it. 72 K15 body on an 83 suburban k10 frame and drivetrain and an early 90s 1st gen vortec 350 swapped to carbed. These are when i got it and it was pretty rough. Driveable but pretty rough. Mods in process are lots of new interior parts including carpet and new paint and kick panel vent handles etc., tons of rust removal all over the whole body, engine rebuild and engine bay clean up, paint, new windshield, new back brakes, 4" suspension lift.....and it goes on and on....

The cab corner was almost rotted through:

New intake and new-ish carb:

New cab shell. The rusted one was full of mud and made the whole truck smell so bad:

Cleaned up a little and with some major dents pulled out:

Cluster pulled for refurbing and fixing the PO's crappy, poorly thought out hump mods for the range selector. When I bought it I had to reach through the floor and grab the transfer case to put it in 4x4:

So much rust to remove but gonna be so worth it:

How did they address the wheel base change and the cab mounts in using the square body Suburban frame?

Re: post your 67-72 4x4

As far as the wheelbase goes I have no idea how they did it but they got it all to match nearly perfectly. Its hard to to say they slid it back or forward on the frame because everything matches up pretty nice. You can see in the picture about the dents that they cut the frame in the rear. I'd like to say they cut around 18" off but again I'll probably never know.

The entire body is custom body lifted to the frame. They cut some pretty heavy duty 3" tubing in 6" segments and got the welder out. If I had started the project myself I don't know how I would have done it but I doubt I would have done it like that. In their defense though, the whole setup is pretty damn solid and tough. It rides like a brick but it's on there for good.
