Re: '50 chevy 3100
Been busy last couple weeks when weather was good. Before and after of paint plus a few more. Bumper that came with it has to stay for now until I find a factory one. So license plate bracket might look odd to a few of you lol.

Re: '50 chevy 3100
My rear stake pockets have been modified by a PO. Last couple inches curve inward instead of being square, so I had to extend the brackets.

Re: '50 chevy 3100
Thanks! I've been trying to figure out insurance and stuff lately. Don't want to get a bad deal ya know.
In the process of cleaning up my yard. I have a large yard and there was a building 30x12 I just took down. Finishing up floor now. Very crappy construction. Separating boards everywhere, floors were made ofbtgat particle crap that cant get wet. So my foot went tgrough in a few areas. Salvaged a lot of the sheet metal and gave a brace a good tug and it came crashing down. Anyway I plan to build a sliding gate in its place so I have a secure area to park.

Almost forgot! I decided to ditch the 18 inch wheel for a 15 inch.

Re: '50 chevy 3100
I like the grant style but thought I'd look up reviews of off brand ones. Found this one and I'm pretty happy with it. Just had to get an adapter.

Re: '50 chevy 3100
Well I got that building torn down. Taken me a while to get the area all cleaned up. That time of year where it's freezing temps and then nice sunny days then freezing again. And I'm around tiny sick monsters all day! Flu, strep, fevers, runny noses. So of course I've gotten sick twice in two weeks. On a good note, just a b'day. Big 30.
Checked with permits office yesterday on where I'm allowed to put a building. And the best spot for one is right on top of gas line so I guess I'll be redirecting that at some point. As for now I have the spot for my gate narrowed down and I looked at my friends gate across the street today. I was thinking 15 feet his is 20 and I figured I better go 20 now than wish I had later. Supposed to be a couple warm days next week so I'll start digging gate footer soon.

Re: '50 chevy 3100
Weather permitting I'll have the gate done soon. And it looks like I'll be moving my gas line at some point. I was going to hire someone but man they want up to 1500 bucks!

Re: '50 chevy 3100
6 hole is momo pattern, right? 7 is lecarra, 5 is grant.
anyway, I like it! digging a trench for a gas line sounds like a lot of work!

Re: '50 chevy 3100
The gas line your moving is a natural gas line or ?. Moving a natural gas line is Dangerous business, that's why it costs so much. Most areas require a gas if you have the skills be my guest, just a heads up. don't want to see that truck damaged......

Re: '50 chevy 3100
Well winter hit and I went to inside projects. Covid made teaching my class a little difficult but I feel like me and wife started to get into a groove. I'll be teaching summer school online for the next month. Virtual teaching is getting smoother each day and if schools get closed again I hope to be ready with all this new virtual experience.
Things really slowed down this last week so I did something I've been meaning to do for months, I poured concrete for my backyard driveway. Half on monday half saturday. I did it myself with a friend and wife helping so it was easier in two pours. Thankfully had enough chainlink to keep dog off for a couple days. Next step is the sliding gate. But I dont think I'll get to that until july. I did the truck mostly in the dirt so I'm pretty happy to have an area to park truck for what's left and room to start on my wife's mustang.

Re: '50 chevy 3100
Pouring concrete is no fun. Glad it turned out. My brother and SIL are both teaching remotely, that took some getting used to.
Glad you're back.

3 years later. Steering column is wired up. 1969/70 tilt column. Wouldn't plug into EZ wire plug. Had to pull out all the terminals and use a different gm plug.
