Re: Bowtie468's Extreme '68 BuildPage

As time allows , I've been working on getting the one piece door glass installed. Also swapped out my door gaskets to Soff Seal ones and my doors now close effortlessly. No more slamming doors shut . I'm happy !!!!

Any part numbers for the gaskets? Are they glue in?

Mike , I have no idea what brand they were . Bought them a long time ago . All I remember is that they were pretty cheap .
Sorry I can't help more than that .

Rob, they are the standard glue in style. SoffSeal # is 9009. Pricing on their website shows $71 direct from them . I picked these up for $50 at CTC swap meet.

Subscribed! Just read every word of the thread. Great work so far.

I like your style. Your truck has a a lot in common with what i have planned for mine, so i'm very inspired watching yours come to life.

I'm curious to see/hear what you've done with your frame and wheel tubs to fit the tires...

Thank you ! The rear frame rails are stock with only a c notch . Bed floor has been raised 3" and the wheel tubs are widened by about roughly 7" . Can't recall the exact measurement at the moment. Also, stock trailing arms are attached to a Porterbuilt crossmember for adjustability. The 9" rear has been narrowed to fit 20x12 wheels with a 4" backspacing .

Not quite . My time and attention this past week has been spent gathering info for a EFI setup for the big block.

Wow. That's a sweet setup , Raul ! I have looked at FAST efi and they have some of the best stuff out there . I wound up making a killer deal on a Ram Jet setup from Street & Performance.

Thanks, they are 67-69 Firebird mirrors from Dynacorn . Great quality. Nice and tight . The arms are a little shorter but it keeps them tucked in while still being completely functional . Without the vent windows , I moved them forward a good bit .

Re: Bowtie468's Extreme '68 BuildPage

Well, since i cant seem to leave anything as is, i decided to gasket match the tpi plenum to the intake. While the runners are really nice as cast, this transition area on the plenum was a little rough for my likeing. I also removed the 3" tall spacers and the unit looks much nicer without them. Plus i surely wasnt cutting my hood.
No pics yet without the spacers as i still have the unit blown apart.

Looks great, what kit did you use for the windows. Sorry if you mentioned it previously in your thread and I missed it. How was the install and are you happy with the quality?

Keith, i used the One Piece Products kit. Overall im pleased with it. Ben Tapia did a nice job on these kits but they are definately not a " bolt in and go" ! You've got to make it work. I give 2 thumbs up on the revised check link for the hinges.
