Re: Whose on Steelies? Post 'em up!

just put new shoes on yesterday, and found some caps and rings that cleaned up real nice for my driver. Needed a lot of degreaser on the wheels, and a little chrome polish on the caps and rings. New lug nuts too.
By the way did you know with enough scrubbing you can get the matte finish off the flat part of these hub caps? Probably not the repop plastic ones, but the metal originals will polish up nice with some muscle and chrome polish.

Re: Whose on Steelies? Post 'em up!

Caprice Steelies with newer centers and also orig hubcaps

295 rear, 245 front

I think they look OK but I'd rather them both be flush with the body rather than sucked in....

Just got these blasted and painted, got a real nice set of the later style hubcaps and will (hopefully) soon be getting a set of 235/85/16s mounted on them

Re: Whose on Steelies? Post 'em up!

It's funny now that most vehicles come with styled alloy wheels people are considering rallye wheels steelies. HUbcaps are a thing of the past and the only wheel covers come on el cheapo models and they are plastic crap. Wheels used to be so simple.

This little one onwer is rolling on 16" steel wheels. I am currently riding on low pressure Dry Rotina Tires, great tire made in BoFumpy Creek. I'm not sure of the size

Re: Whose on Steelies? Post 'em up!

AustinScott--

I was wondering what those would look like on our trucks.

I thought about using those wheels and rigging up a set of the 88-98 chrome plastic caps on them.

I'd get the yellow off them--solid black or maybe charcoal.

Re: Whose on Steelies? Post 'em up!

Thanks. Wheels are 16X8 and tires are LT265/75R16. I bought 285's and they rubbed up front and I didn't want to lift the truck.
