Re: Project Platinum C10

I got a call from the paint shop this morning. They told me that my new hood should be in around noon and they started taking the truck apart this morning. They asked if I could come in today and pick out the paint so they could get it into the booth. It's been along time coming and I have gotten aggravated somewhat waiting but I must admit. I am SUPER EXCITED!

Thanks! Man I was happy when I seen a little paint on it. They didn't have much done (Paint Wise) but some paint is better than no paint.

Re: Project Platinum C10

Oooohhh, I hate it when they shoot metalics with vertical panels laying down. So many times I can see the difference when the panel is vertical again when hung on the vehicle. I hope that you can't see the difference if they shoot the fender laying down like that! EEK!

They hang them in the paint booth to shoot them. I think they were giving the primer time to dry. lol, no worries.

I picked my colors from their paint chips and don't know the name of the colors. I can get the code off the chips if you'd like. Yeah it sucks that we missed the cruise. I missed the Silsbee cruise and 11th street.

Re: Project Platinum C10

Updates from today. They have everything painted gray except the cab and bed. Once all the gray has been sprayed they'll re assemble the truck and tape off to spray the silver. After that they'll wet sand and buff the truck and spray in the bed liner.

Thanks man. I got a call this morning that my bed and cab should be painted today and that I needed to order all my body molding, window channel, rubber kit, etc... Should be delivered there by this time next week. Tomorrow they will start reassembling to get ready to shoot the silver. I think I am getting a little excited here! Pics to come this evening

No, I had to piece it together on LMC. I ordered the belt molding and the bed corner moldings. Nice looking truck in your avatar.
